    BOGOTA Visa Office 2012 applicants

Anyone else have the same application number as their spouse? I thought we were meant to have two different file numbers, but after checking all documents and communications the embassy are using the same file number for both of us.

    BOGOTA Visa Office 2012 applicants

I was browsing through some of the other threads. For some countries they request the passport very early on in the process. I think I paid the landing fees at the time of the initial application. When we got the passport request we thought the visa was going to be processed soon. We've now...

    BOGOTA Visa Office 2012 applicants

It would be nice if there was some sort of timeframe. Some people say that once the passport is requested, then this is a good sign. Others say they are now asking for the passport earlier on in the process to stop the spouse in Colombia from traveling. When we received the letter from the...

    BOGOTA Visa Office 2012 applicants

I wouldn't trust ECAS. Our status is still "application received" even though we know they are processing our case, as the passport has been requested and the embassy has asked for other documents.

    BOGOTA Visa Office 2012 applicants

Oh I see what you mean now. I looked at your "stats" and it says "AOR Received". But, this is not what you were talking about. We got the notification email from Bogota after about 4-5 months from initial application. The email said "usual processing time is 10 months". Not sure if that...

    BOGOTA Visa Office 2012 applicants

We've now got an email requesting to send a notarized copy of the marriage certificate. We originally sent it with the initial application. They must have lost it.

No interview yet.... but as the passport has been requested, I guess she could be called for an interview any time.

    BOGOTA Visa Office 2012 applicants

According to my wife, the embassy requested $50.000 pesos for a police investigation. She went to her bank and did a direct money transfer from her bank to the bank account details sent to her. She then had to mail proof of the payment back to the embassy. We can't remember what file number we used.

    BOGOTA Visa Office 2012 applicants

Thanks for the info. I will try the email. If I remember correctly, the embassy notified us that we had to pay more money. They told us the processing instructions. That processing fee of $60,000 pesos looks very familiar. I would supply both the UCI number and the number that starts with "F"...

    BOGOTA Visa Office 2012 applicants

Applying from Colombia. Sent police check at time of initial application. Any other questions - fire them my way. I don't suppose there is a number/email I can use to check if they (still) have the passport?

    BOGOTA Visa Office 2012 applicants

Hopefully it will be next month - making 11 months in total. We originally "expected" February next year and were being very patient, but now the passport has been requested all patience has gone. My wife is getting concerned that the passport has been lost by the embassy.

    BOGOTA Visa Office 2012 applicants

Hi, long time lurker waiting patiently for the spousal visa for my wife. Just to let people know we applied November 24, 2011. The passport was requested July 11, 2012, so hopefully not long now. It seems like 3 months is now the "standard" wait time after the passport has been requested?

    Reg: Canadian Visa

There is no chance that Canada will let you in on a student or visitor visa. Spousal visa is the only way to go. For the other visa's, the main concern of Canada is that you go home. If they know you have a husband here - well, like I said. No chance.

Student visa rejected. How long would you wait to get married ?

Hi My longterm girlfriend from Brazil recently had her student visa for Canada rejected. We've talked about marriage for a long time and now we are finally going to do it! We've done the research into what is required - and it is not easy, but we know what we need to do. I am concerned though...
