We've now had the formal request for a second set of x-rays. I only found this out by emailing the embassy. They sent this request to my wife a few weeks ago, but used a wrong email addres (again). Not long now I think.... :)

Untrue. The only way I found out about some of their mistakes was by emailing them. They won't reply most of the time, but sometimes they will.

It's a crap-shoot. You might get a decent VO, but more than likely you won't. We just received our CAIPS notes. They sent a document request via email, but spelled my wife's name incorrectly, and therefore an incorrect email address was used. I don't think most of these VO's in Bogota could...

24 months? And the passport was requested in March 2012? Do you know what caused the delay? We applied 12 months ago, had a letter in April 2012 saying "processing time should be another 10 months" (which will put us at February 2013) and the passport was requested July 2012.

My friend got their visa 6 weeks after doing the second set of medicals.

I think it is 30 working days.

We ordered CAIPS notes 6 weeks ago (electronic) and they still haven't arrived. Hopefully this week.

My wife's medicals have expired, but we haven't had a request yet to redo them. We are sitting tight until told otherwise.

I would imagine your interview will be fine. The fact that your husband is in Ecuador with you right now, and has been living with you is good proof that your relationship is real.

This is great news. Very happy for you. Based on your timeline, and the mess up by the embassy with our marriage certificate, we should be hearing something within the next couple of weeks. If they request another medical (which I think they will) then this will add another 4-6 weeks.

No news yet I'm afraid. I will email at the end of next week to double-check they really got the marriage certificate this time. Unfortunately the medicals expire this month, so I think that is going to delay things more. We are hoping for January or February.

Email them and ask if they require any other documents from you. But perhaps your case is complicated? Is this why you need a lawyer? They've had my wife's passport for almost 4 months now. We applied at the end of November 2011, so it looks like we have a very similar timeline. I really hope...
