let's say that it has been at least 3 weeks of waiting for most of us under the old process. I am hoping I will know my file # by the end of March, if not before since (my application reached Edmonton on Feb 9)!!

No, I first inquired about the process way back in dec, I think it was Dec 1st. They e-mailed me the next day the list of docs I need to submit for pre-assessment step and explained that if successful I will get an invitation. I e-mailed the pre-assessment docs Dec 3rd and got confirmation...

In my invitation letter they said it may take between 40-60 days to process applications, and that time frame may increase as the volume of applications increases. I went through other threads; it looks that once they assign the file number to pre-assessed applications, it takes extra 3 weeks...

Dec 3 - e-mailed docs for pre-assessment Dec 4 - got confirmation Jan 25 - got invitation letter (with AINP003 and CIC forms) Feb 6 - mailed the application packet Feb 9 - application delivered waiting for file number

I have just now pulled that new Alberta list and....well...I may have messed up. In the invitation letter they put invitation under the occupation of Unix Sys Admin and they did not tie in the NOC code. That is all well and fine, but I may have assigned myself wrong NOC while filling complete...

Sorry to hear that Mike, All I can say is that I too got invitation letter in January with AINP 003 forms and the cheklist with which CIC forms I need to fill out, accompanied with a green sticker, so I filled that in and sent back. You should not worry, since I think they are sending old forms...

@Albertagov, what do you mean by that? ...."does not acknowledge the receipt of Fedex-UPS packets" I just got delivery conf for my packet. I know it will be quite some time to get the file number and I am impatient but not stressed. :) :)

I guess that is the standard thing for everyone. I saw that paragraph on my application as well. But I dont see a reason to get all upset over it. Hopefully we can hold on to our jobs till we get into CIC step. Lets say another 6 months...

Thanks you guys..I mentioned before I didnt send the notarize docs earlier, based on your recommendation will only send the notarized copies of the educational docs/tech certificates and passport when they ask for it. Btw Felix31 has your case been approved by AINP already? Not yet, here is...

I notarized docs they asked for in the supporting doc checklist: passports, degree in home language, certified translation, and education and technical certifications. I figured they will be satisfied with copies of ref letters so did not certify those.

Personally, I dont care how long it takes, as long as I get nominated. Like the other guy above, Alberta is my only GC option. Hopefully I'll qualify and get PR before my current H1 expires.

I plan to send my packet tomorrow. I guess getting the file number nowadays takes longer if you are brand new to the process since pre-assessment was stremlined. Once they review the packet you will get the number. For those of us who are under old processing it should not take longer than...
