Brought forward date: Is it always set to 90 days later each time?

Hi Marlena, Here's another thread discussing CAIPS notes in case something still isn't clear: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/requesting-caips-notes-t16623.0.html As Rasha has already said, CAIPS needs to be ordered by you on behalf of your husband. He should...

    Singapore regional office quiet...

Thanks. Yes, it's hard to be patient, but there's not much else you can do. You're still in the early stages according to their published timelines, so there's no need to panic. But if it does drag on for a few more months, you can try ordering CAIPS notes to see what's happening with your...

Brought forward date: Is it always set to 90 days later each time?

The File number they want won't be on the sponsorship approval letter. That letter has the Sponsor's client ID. If the local office sends Acknowledgement of Receipt letters once they receive the forwarded application, it will be on the AOR letter sent to the PR applicant. It usually starts...

Brought forward date: Is it always set to 90 days later each time?

Thanks...it took a while to sink in. It's taken 8 months for us, which compared to some people on here, isn't long. But it's such a stressful experience. I'm glad it's almost over.

Yes, e-Cas says Decision Made. I haven't received the letter yet though. Hopefully it arrives today so I can send my passport off.

Brought forward date: Is it always set to 90 days later each time?

We ordered CAIPS notes 4 weeks ago, but they haven't arrived yet. But I found out today from the MP that the background check has been completed and my PR application was approved on Thursday and they've sent me a passport request. So I don't need them anymore. I'm not sure about your case...

    Singapore regional office quiet...

Well, I received some good news today. My e-Cas changed to Decision Made, and the MP's office called and found out my visa has been approved, and the London office has sent out a passport request. So it kind of reinforces my point...we waited 6 months without being contacted once, and it turns...

Why would you be worried after 4 months though? I'm not saying that 4 months isn't a long time as a general thing. But in this case they've published 2008 processing timelines which show cases are being completed in 4 - 9 months in Singapore. So it looks like you have to wait at least 4...

Please Help: 9 months application still "In Process".

Suin, I don't think it's a case of them "deciding" to take time. If it takes time, it takes time. Mine is obviously taking time, and I'm not really sure why. The same with Toledo. CIC aren't the ones doing it, so they have to wait for CSIS to complete the check. Lisa, It's all speculation...

Please Help: 9 months application still "In Process".

Yes, unfortunately they'll ask you to do a new medical, and maybe police checks again (not sure about this one though). We're in a similar situation, but London has been processing ours for 6 months, and responded to my query this week saying they were just waiting for the background check to...

Actually, you might get an AOR letter. London don't send them out, so we never got one. But Singapore might send them. Some offices do and some don't, from what I've heard. Someone else who's gone through the Singapore office will probably know.

No. The only letter we ever received was the sponsorhip approval letter from Mississauga. London have been processing our application for 6 months now, and they never contacted us for anything. We did find out via my wife's MP's office in Canada that they're just waiting on a background check...

    Singapore regional office quiet...

Hmmm...I took the "appl." to be an abbreviation for "application". If it's an appeal, I'm not sure. But if it did stand for application, well only 30% of cases are finalised in 4 months in Singapore according to the published timelines.

    Checking your status...

I've never seen Passport Number as an option on e-Cas. Just checked now and saw a bunch of options, but no passport number. Which item on the list did you use with the passport number? For us, we could check using: - Receipt number with sponsor's details - The Client ID on the sponsorship...

    Singapore regional office quiet...

The published processing timelines suggest 4 to 9 months for applications being processed in Singapore. I don't know if the Singapore office is more communicative than the London office, but I never received a response from London until I'd reached the end of the posted timelines. I'd guess...

    Question about background checks

When CIC says so I guess. But it's not something they ever contact you about. I only know they're still waiting on mine as they responded to my enquiry about the status of my application and told me it was still pending. I guess when they request my passport soon, I can assume the background...

Brought forward date: Is it always set to 90 days later each time?

As far as I'm aware, the brought forward date is a date they set indicating when they'll next bring out your application and continue working on it. In our case, when the MP's office called to find out the status of our application, they were told that the brought forward date was April 22nd...

    Question about background checks

From what I understand, there's two different types of checks. I assume you're referring to the police checks you have to include with your application. But there's also another background security check which they do (not sure if they do it for everyone...I read on another forum that they...

Brought forward date: Is it always set to 90 days later each time?

Well Rorita, I guess that's the question we're debating. It's hard to know for sure without seeing your CAIPS notes which might have a brought forward date on it. And, as RobsLuv said, it might not necessarily mean they'll wait until that before date. Well, that's what I'm hoping at least...
