What should I put as my reason for staying?

When my husband (US citizen) had to get his visitor visa extended he said his exact intentions. He had applied Inland for permanent residence because we had just recently got married. He didnt have any problems and they extended him for another year.

    Decision Made

Congrats! Sounds like they are moving along with the Inland applications...we applied Inland in August, so we may get a decision in the next month or so.

Re: using the blue and bold in my post

I agree. Its not distracting. Posts with ???????? and silly faces repeated over and over again seem more annoying. Blue just spices up the forum.

    Medical not received...

Today we got a call from Immigration...our medical was not in the file, but she has the medical receipt from the doctor that did the examination and now our file is being transferred to another representative. This makes me very nervous that we will be put back in queue because of this. Is...

    INLANDERS!

@ItalCanita Your husband should apply for a visitor visa extension BEFORE his visiting status expires. While they are processing his application your husband will be "implied status." http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/extend-stay.asp Until you get and ID# it might not be possible to check...

Inland medicals, FBI and Police Check

Thank you for the replies. Just getting worried because we sent the medical receipt with the initial application and it's not listed as being received from the doctor and sent the FBI/Police checks 2 months later. As the timeline gets closer the more nervous I become.

Inland medicals, FBI and Police Check

How long does it take for Inland medical, FBI and Police check to register on-line Client Application status? Our application is "in process" for 4 months now and nothing new has been added since September saying they started processing our application. Any advice would be...

    Medical added to Inland file

From anyone's experience how long does it take for them to add the medical to Inland application? We are almost at month 4 and haven't seen any updates since they said they rec'd application Aug 21 and started processing on September 18. We sent the receipt with the application August 18 and...

When can I work in Canada?

Hmmmm, hope we aren't doing anything illegal because he volunteers...last thing we need is him getting deported because he delivers meals to grannies and grandads who can't do chores like that any more. He doesn't get paid and as far as we know it is on a volunteer basis and not a job that CDN...

When can I work in Canada?

So technically even volunteering could be considered work? My husband is volunteering at the hospital doing things like meals on wheels and tutoring kids in the high school...before he started he stated to them in no way, shape or form should he be paid and not even receive a gratuity or...

    Confused...

If the to-be-sponsored person is already in Canada with a work permit I would assume they have to apply Inland.

    INLANDERS!

I was informed that once you recieve your AIP you can apply for provincial health care, SIN, etc. As for private health insurance you should, in theory, be eligible to be included on your wife's medical insurance as a spouse. @ wasted_year - sorry to hear you had such bad luck with your...

    Inland Timeline..

We never received a letter so called the 1 (800) number because we couldn't get any information to come up on the website after a few months...we were given an ID number and can check it now. Called a few months later and was told there won't be anything updated until it reaches month 6 or 7...

Extending 6-months Visitor Visa so she can stay with me thru common law

I am sure she could apply for a visitor visa, however she will have to give her reason to extend her visit. Whether or not it will be approved is another thing. As TLH said, and I don't deny the genuine aspect of your relationship, with applying for sponsorship/PR status that is a 3 year...

    Outland vs. Inland timeline

Thank you Nyssa =) I can totally understand being separated from family. My husband and I long-distance dated for 4 years and we did not want to have our married life separated by a border.

    Outland vs. Inland timeline

This question has probably been answered already...my apologies if it has... Why does it seem that Outland applications are quicker to process then Inland ones? I thought it would be quicker to have an Inland application because the person is in Canada, therefore if information, interviews...
