We called the call centre and they gave us a Client ID# once we had the number we were able to check it on ecas.

Did you apply Inland or Outland? If you applied Inland you won't hear from them for a few months. We had to call the CIC to get client ID number to check our application through the online ecas.

My husband is also a US Citizen and we applied Inland. We sent his application without the FBI/Police check because we were told the same thing 8 - 16 weeks and we weren't going to wait till it came since it was stating it was a 7 month timeline then. Once we received the FBI/Police checks...

Highly doubt the hospital will call up Immigration because she does not have health care. Basically all the hospital cares about is who is paying the bill. Basic inpatient care starts around $1,500 a day depending on the province.

Did you receive your AIP? I could see it maybe taking up to 3 years to process PR, but its ususally way faster for the first stage of approval. Definately order your FOSS notes to find out what the issue(s) is/are.
