Just Married to a Filipina, no NSO Marriage Certificate, Local Certificate OK?

That seems like an awfully long time, when I got married we were able to get the certificate from the NSO in about 3 weeks.

Fair enough, I guess I misunderstood the comment.

    fake experience letter

While the faking of experience should be frowned upon, I'm not sure what your point with this comment is except to be an <expletive deleted> Why don't you keep your judgement to yourself? Many people leave their countries and have to take something 'below' what their experience or schooling...

    Flight - Philippine Ticket

I would think that you should be arriving in Canada on Sep 25th around 9 PM. When i fly from the Philippines to Vancouver I typically get there about 3-4 hours 'before i left'. Since you are leaving at 1 am, arriving the day before but 3 - 4 hours before your flight left would make sense to...

Re: Tired of waiting? I have an idea...but we have to do it together! You are a lot nicer than I would have been responding to 'that' post.

Email sent to CPPO to Locate Med Results

They were having issues locating my medical results. I emailed them the date, hospital it was done at and the doctor who did the tests, they were able to locate the medical results a few days after and tie it to my file. You probably want to do the same.

    Wait after medical ??

Read the post above, some visa offices take 4 months some take 2 years, it's impossible without knowing more information and the circumstances to give you any type of accurate answer.

    Foreign Service - Strike?

Working on student visa apps can cause delays of months while PR apps aren't being processed. This has been painfully obvious in the Manila office with their throughput before and after the school season started. One person jumping ahead inline doesn't cause nearly the same delay. It sucks...

    Wait after medical ??

It really depends on the specific offices timeline and other factors within the application. The best thing you can do is find the spreadsheet of others that applied in the same office as you and see how long on average they take after that. Things like security clearances can add additional...

    Foreign Service - Strike?

It's directly related to the topic and how PR apps are pushed back because of student apps just as much as nepotism is......it's not difficult to skip over those posts.

    Foreign Service - Strike?

Here's an article on the study, I think it has a direct link to the source in it somewhere http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/worldviews/wp/2013/05/15/a-fascinating-map-of-the-worlds-most-and-least-racially-tolerant-countries/

    Foreign Service - Strike?

The PR that is part of a family who has been paying Canadian taxes for a long time. When you are talking about spousal PR's you can't really ignore the fact that half of that equation is a Canadian Citizen, it's disingenuous. The wife may or may not work and pay taxes, but I have been working...

    Foreign Service - Strike?

They actually have studies on this exact thing that basically says the exact opposite of what you just posted. Canada is in fact one of the least likely places in the world where someone would say they don't want to live by an immigrant. Facts > Gut feeling

Manila Tread for English Speakers - join here!

The med test was due to something in her childhood, but it was fairly easy to do and we had already done the full medical tests before. After a couple of emails they got it lined up with the file correctly so I think that's all completed now. On the plus side they've been responding to my...

Manila Tread for English Speakers - join here!

I think they either lost it or whoever opened the package didn't mark it as received, hopefully the latter. With the PPR we needed to do some additional medical tests. an updated personal history and the Singapore and Lebanon police clearances. When i called the hotline in Canada they said...

Manila Tread for English Speakers - join here!

And the fun continues.... Just got an email from them that they need a Lebanon Security Certificate from us. The same one we already sent in, with an English translation bought and paid for. Took us 3 months to get it. :( I emailed them back, I hope they can find it......not very confident...

    Did it really worth it?

On a side note in regards to Canadian racism a recent study shows Canada as being one of the least racist countries in the world. As with corruption, racism is everywhere but bare in mind it's a lot less than almost anywhere else in the world. Silly facts....

    Did it really worth it?

There's corruption everywhere, it's the level of corruption that makes the difference. If you think you can compare the corruption in India to Canada you are delusional. As far as the 1940's thing, bad things happen but it's what the country and people do to prevent it in the future that shows...
