    this is what I did and I got my OWP last week go to http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/index-int.asp and click on Apply on-line in the left hand menu then select "work permit - new or extended" and click go on the next page click "register/login" near the bottom right of the page on the next page...

    I got an email to check MyCIC today. It had a notice saying that they sent my work permit. so I expect my OWP in the mail sometime this week! run postman! RUN! Online App on Mar 5, approved on Apr 15... received in mail Apr xx (watch this space) I hope this means I can get a new job soon...

    Thanks! this does give me some peace of mind... although i'm still a bit hesitant to assume a OWP with AIP only takes about a month and a half... :S Now a question for others who might have the same problem...     I received my AIP email but eCAS still says application received... so as many on here would tell you, it is up to the agent who opens your file that day to update eCAS or not... it seems that the process is getting quicker but the number of "in process" posts i've seen recently makes me think...

    I think ECAS is not working properly so I wouldn't be worried. My wife is sponsoring me and we both received emails from CIC but we can't see anything in ECAS. we applied on Sept 17, 2012. Imo

    thanks CG... although I have a copy of the medical form, I have the wrong form since I originally thought I would apply outside of Canada... so I did my medical on the wrong form... The Doctor then told me not to send the medical form with my app, since they might throw it out as it is the wrong...

    not sure what you mean... I got it 160 days after my application was received by CIC (Sept 17, 2012)... I'm applying inland so hopefully this doesn't have anything to do with my country.

    AIP Feb 24!!!! only 160 Days! WOOT!!! But then they asked me to submit my medical... ouch... I did, So did it get lost? Should I bother tracking it down or should I just go redo my meds and have it resubmitted... I'll do my OWP now... keep your hopes up everyone!

    I also resubmitted the one form they asked for... havent heard anything on how long that will delay the process. I'm now considering submitting an OWP as my current WP will expire in August... hopefully that'll tide me over till I get PR... good luck

    Here's just some information as I know this came up many times... It is recommended not to leave Canada while you have an INLAND application in process, as you may not be eligible to re-enter and your inland application may be discarded. Well I did just that this past holidays and re-entered...
