I have condition 51 so I am not sure I can pull that off.

I'm trying to gauge how feasible it is to look for a job in Canada while keeping mine in the US. Quitting my current job without having secured anything up north is not an easy decision, and I have time until June 2016 to land.

Asking a confirmation: I am able to go to Canada and visit my wife and/or have a job interview without officially landing, right?

They normally extend medicals, by how much it depends (it seems) on many factors.

An update on my side: on Thursday i called again and I spoke to another operator: I explained him the situation and he told me that he was going to do an exception for me. Well, it turns out that my COPR was sent out on July 14th, so here is hoping that this is the week when I finally receive my...

I called the two days ago (went the French route to save time) and the agent basically gave vague responses telling me not to worry. Well, to be honest I don't mind receiving the COPR a little later as long as the medical extension is reasonable and I have enough time to prepare the transition...

What happened to the medical extensions that were handed out earlier? In case someone decides not to land within the date stated on the COPR, can he let it expire and then reapply?

Looking at comparable timings I should receive the COPR pretty soon (DM on July 3rd). To be honest I was hoping to have a bit more time for landing (such as a 1-year medical extension that would take me to July 2016 deadline). I guess I'll see what happens.

I am not using my after tax accounts, not the ones I have in the US anyway.

As far as IRA and 401k are concerned, a couple of months ago I spoke to Fidelity and they told me I would be able to manage the account from Canada and not freeze them, not sure about plain vanilla brokerage accounts though.
