Still waiting - applied August 2014. Very frustrated ... sometimes it's so difficult to be positive :'(

Does anyone have the call centre # from Canada? Do they answer on weekends?

What the heck? I'm sorry it's taking such a long amount of time. >:( The call centre agents are only available on weekdays. This is the number: 1-888-242‑2100

Asking a confirmation: I am able to go to Canada and visit my wife and/or have a job interview without officially landing, right?

I'm pretty sure you're OK to go to a job interview but you obviously can't begin working until you're legally able to.

And you can visit Canada under the normal guidelines and restrictions; just present yourself as a Visitor at the border and don't present your CoPR if you've received it. Although I'm not sure why you wouldn't want to land?

I'm trying to gauge how feasible it is to look for a job in Canada while keeping mine in the US. Quitting my current job without having secured anything up north is not an easy decision, and I have time until June 2016 to land.

Anyone have any advice on when to send in my FBI clearance?

We have received are AOR but are still waiting on sponsorship approval. We recieved the clearance in the mail yesterday and I wasn't sure if I should forward it on now or wait until we have sponsorship approval or until they ask for it.

You can also land, apply for your PR card and an SIN, but not officially change your residency until later. You would continue to answer the "where do you live?" question as you do now, and get a funny look about why you have a PR card and live in the states, but as long as you have more than two years left on your PR card, it's totally legal.

I have condition 51 so I am not sure I can pull that off.

I would suggest sending it after you get SA but before they request it. I know a lot of people from late 2014 who got documents requested, noticed it really delays things when they have to request something.

I received my GCSM notes few days ago (26 pages). From my understanding my file has not been touched since May 6 2015. Can anyone help me understand what the following means:

PAPER FILE HISTORY

PAPER FILE HISTORY: 1
Created Date 2015/05/06 08:44
Created By : MK12268
Updated Date: 2015/05/06 08:44
Office: CPC-Ottawa
Paper File #: xxxxxxxxx
Location: FCP - Inventory
Status: Open

What does it mean if my file is in the FCP - Inventory?
Are there stages in this process?

CIC received the spousal sponsorship application on April 2. Received AOR
and SA approval very quickly, I think by April 28th. GCSM notes confirm
my file was transported from Mississauga to Ottawa on May 1, 2015.
The last page had three notes. This is the most latest note on my file:

I think FCP might mean it's in a file cabinet... basically just sitting in a queue with other's applications waiting for your turn to be reviewed.

My application was sent to Ottawa in November and they didn't look at it again until March. And now I'm still waiting on DM.
Seems 2015 applicants are getting processed fairly quickly though. Are you following April 2015 outland thread?

No but I will look into the April 2015 thread. Thanks

NP! That should help you gauge where others are who applied the same month as you. :)

Maybe FCP means Family Class Program?
