Congrats. Nine months wow. I guess that might be the new normal.

CPC-Ottawa seems to be extremely variable. Last year, there was a summer rush of processing that ground to a halt throughout the fall and winter months.

This visa office is one of the larger ones, and they process many streams simultaneously for both temporary and permanent residence. We can speculate that their institutional priority shifts with seasonal demand, and I would not be at all surprised if Express Entry invitation waves muck about with their timetables.

I don't think there is a normal, just a mean/average. There will always be outliers either way. I am pretty sure they just throw the applications in the air 52-card pickup style and grab randomly, based on the comments I've read here.

Well rec'd case notes and as per the case notes the only thing new was the request for more medical from May 2015...no results that were completed on 15JUN2015...no indication they requested TPR file from New York or from us for that matter nor is there any indication that there was a third request for Medical, which the Dr still cant figure out....the next F/U is not until 24SEP2015 so we are SOL...this system so is broken without any accountabiliy....FYI...I really think they pick cases to maintain whatever % it is they need to support the present stats and that is why it appears to be so random why some cases are approved far faster then others....

I hope you figure out what they need for medicals. The inability to get a straight forward answers is the most difficult part of this system. No one at the call center can help?

I imagine the offices where they process everything as if paperwork is just constantly dropping off shelves and flying everywhere and people's pr photos getting their heads snipped off accidentally.

Seems like it's been more than enough time to get at least a MP involved

Ontariobat....we are in USA and can't use the call centre...everything we have read says that CIC will email the Dr you went to and they will know what to do...when my hubby made the appointment for the 3rd time they had no idea what was needed and the letter was dated a week earlier...getting the case notes that indicate nothing has even been started after after 15 months may be the reason the medical is being requested for the third time...gives them more time to do nothing with our application...

You can use the call centre, but you have to call 613-944-4000. There are prompts that will get you to the call centre. Do it early (they open at 8:00 eastern time) or you will likely get a response about them being too busy and you will have to try again. I call from the U.S. all the time and as long as it's before 10 eastern, I rarely have difficulty getting through. Now I will say the call centre isn't that helpful if you've already ordered notes, but it's still worth a shot.

Your experience will depend greatly upon the agent. As far as I can tell, new hires are being trained almost solely for inland applications and the sponsorship approval part of outland applications -- those things that are processed at Mississauga proper. Information about an outland application depends on having an agent who both knows what one is and is willing to bend the call centre's policy.

I have a question, what is the normal amount of time from the time cic receives our application package and we actually get the AOR email. they received our package june 2, still waiting for AOR. thank you

Mississauga's process for sending out AORs is variable. In my case (October applicant), the sponsor received an outland AOR on January 11th, with sponsorship approval received on January 20th. That timing appears to have improved over the course of this year, and from the 2015 spreadsheet it appears that the most recent applicants are receiving an AOR after five to six weeks, with about two more before sponsorship approval.

So I called the call centre yesterday...they advised me that the release of info form we have on file does not apply...whatever....When I was asking the questions he advised me that if he has to redo medical it will take at least 6 months to review once they get the medical even if this is the 2nd or third round...Hubby called today and they would not help me at all..told him his case is outland and there was nothing they could do for him...they did tell him if CIC is requesting Medical again even if its to redo all of it he better do it...I just hope they tell the doctor what they want cause we have no idea...

One long and winding road down - logged into eCAS this morning and have DM on SA. It will be interesting to see if they keep us in line with others getting SA now or whether they move us up to make up for their mistake in sending the application to Ottawa before SA was done. It felt really good to finally be able to change the spreadsheets!

Still waiting - applied August 2014. Very frustrated ... sometimes it's so difficult to be positive :'(

Does anyone have the call centre # from Canada? Do they answer on weekends?
