    Working Without a Permit

Oh :) I was curious about VioletBlue though. She makes it sound like she said in the application "yeah I worked illegally here and made some dough" and they were like "whatever sistah we don't care" lol. Edit: btw, why were you not allowed to babysit if you've always had a working status in Canada?

Insurance for new immigrant, not visitor. No Ohip. Potential serious condition.

I really appreciate you trying to help, I do, but that doesn't answer much of my question. Maybe I worded it wrong. I am aware that I have to pay up front. I have done it many times. My question was if I get a referral before I have Ohip, but schedule the actual visit to take place once I have...

    Working Without a Permit

So, you were babysitting and getting payed for it without a work permit and told CIC and they didn't care?

Insurance for new immigrant, not visitor. No Ohip. Potential serious condition.

What forms? There was one form that I had to fill out. I did that at a ServiceOntario office and they gave me a paper back saying I'm Ohip eligible with a date in early February. I know I won't have to pay until the appointment. But I was worried that it still wouldn't be covered if the...

Yeah, so I've heard. But what about when an actual appointment is set up prior to me being Ohip eligibale, I wonder if that would effect anything. I know I can stay with same doc.

Alberta Health Care for my husband?

Alberta is so much better than Ontario when it comes to this. In Ontario you even have to wait 3 months once you are PR! Even as a Canadian citizen you have to wait if you are out of the country for a longer period.

Insurance for new immigrant, not visitor. No Ohip. Potential serious condition.

What about if I get a referral today by my doc for scanning, but I schedule the actual visit so it's 3-4 weeks from now when I have Ohip, it will be covered right? Or would they say that even if visit is once I have Ohip, the referral was made before I got Ohip, and therefore it's not covered?

Worried about threats - Want to Sponsor Spouse

No. You should be put in jail if you can't stand other people's freedom of speech without threatening them.

My Wife and her family mentally abuses me.

To me this doesn't sound like abuse, it does sound more like the family (who they are most likely living with for free) are telling him to do chores, or to do the chores in a different way, not to leave messes etc etc and he just doesn't like it.

Insurance for new immigrant, not visitor. No Ohip. Potential serious condition.

I'm also wondering, if anyone knows, if I start this process now with check ups, referrals etc, and I pay out of pocket, would Ohip automatically take over mid way through once im covered, or would I have to start all over with check ups, tests etc?

Insurance for new immigrant, not visitor. No Ohip. Potential serious condition.

No, they won't, because these types of insurances for people waiting to be covered by the province simply do not exist in Canada. In the states for example this wouldn't have been a problem. Please don't tell people that they can get non-emergency coverage while waiting when they can't...

Insurance for new immigrant, not visitor. No Ohip. Potential serious condition.

Where can I find this? Every single policy that I have been able to find for people without Ohip is for emergency care. Nothing for regular on-going care at all. It says specially, emergency care, don't even have to read the fine print.

Insurance for new immigrant, not visitor. No Ohip. Potential serious condition.

It's just weird, it's impossible to get health care other than emergency even if you're willing to pay for it? Makes no sense. The government should investigate this and change the rules. You won't qualifie for universal health care, and there is no way of purchasing a private one either other...

Insurance for new immigrant, not visitor. No Ohip. Potential serious condition.

Can someone please help me. I was told by various insurance companies that when I was waiting for PR to get accepted, I could only have EMERGENCY medical insurance, meaning on going care wouldn't be covered. They said I could only have visitor emergency insurance. For example, if I have an...

Interesting. I guess that at least somewhat makes sense, that if someone does it over and over again and won't pay, that would be a problem. What about a ticket for driving without seatbelt? I have one. Payed it just like a speeding ticket. No issues. If my country would have decided to display...

Is it 100% safe to pass border with just passport and CoPR?!

Um yeah. That's what you said. It's fine/not needed. It wasn't an exact quote. So you think that they will update fast and know it even if I got it just few days ago? Considering how slow Ecas is, maybe all their technology is dated 2002.

What about if one only brings a copy of the copr or even just a picture of it on the phone? Ponga told me this would be fine.

The high lighted...seriously, why are they spending money on bull like that? Why are Canadiens accepting this? It's a waste of tax money and extremely inhumane. Im curious now...have you ever seen anyone being inadmissible because of a say, regular speeding or parking ticket or say a ticket for...
