Same here, submitted at the end of June 2016, still nothing new from CIC; the only thing we can do is just waiting......

Since the valid duration for PCC is 12 months/one-year, I would expect that CIC will finish at least the background check within 12 months after the submission of App if the PCC was submitted in the original App. Am I correct? Then I can definitely expect my DM by the end of this month or late...
