On the other hand, they managed to get the system online on time, though some people were wary it would be delayed because of unforeseen kinks. Let's hope they can keep to their plans in this case, too.

I wonder why email gets delayed so much for some people - logically, it should be automatic. Maybe they send emails only after verifying ECA/IELTS numbers?

ECA is not required for people who have done their education in Canada, that is why it may look like it is not mandatory. If this is not your case, you must get ECA done before submitting the EE profile.

Thanks! I think candidates would have to wait anyway, because CIC can check the status online by the number and find out if the evaluation has been completed or not. Still, better be safe than sorry.

Could somebody please answer the following question: if someone is working on a work permit and gets a LMO/LMIA, does LMO/LMIA stay valid until the work permit expires? Or does LMO/LMIA have its own expiration date?

CIC is going to draw a number of top candidates from the pool regularly, so it would be quite possible to get selected if your score is good enough, even without LMIA/PNP.

477 is a good score, according to the spreadsheet. No one really knows how many people will be included in the first draw, but it's just a week away. You may want to wait until the January draw and see if you make it with your current score, and if not, then get the LMIA.

It's unlikely people with job offers will have any competition among themselves.
