Well 5 weeks is a long time to be honest. I can understand your concern. I would just call the Visa office or email them. They do reply via email where call is the best.

That's not fake call and it could be genuine. If CIC calls you, they generally try to validate your information first. Clearly, you have given your phone no. and email contacts to them so they can definitely call or email you. Just use your best judgement when you're on the call.

Just wait and be patient. They take a little bit of time processing applications especially when if you have submitted lot of docs. Also, keep checking with the local office regarding status of your application. There should be some sort of way (phone/email, etc.) to find out what's going on.
