I have never seen Cdn embassy calling someone directly they usually communicate via email stated on file.

That's not fake call and it could be genuine. If CIC calls you, they generally try to validate your information first.
Clearly, you have given your phone no. and email contacts to them so they can definitely call or email you. Just use your best judgement when you're on the call.

Those are fake calls....i have never seen even a single student getting call from embassy...
