Documents requested by Buffalo - can I fax them?

Buffalo has requested additional documentation from us - they want a photocopy of our Ontario marriage certificate. We sent a copy of the solemnization record not realizing it is not a legal record and Mississauga seemed to accept it for my sponsorship application...go figure! Anyway we expect...

    IMM 5401

This question has already been answered for you 4 or 5 times under the various topics you have repeatedly posted the same question under. Why do you keep asking the same question over and over again? The answer is not going to change!

    Total Headache.

They probably say that because they don't want people to get the idea that it's okay to overstay.

That would likely be an inland application, but you should call the CIC to find out.

Application sent January 6th Recieved Jan 7th

Which one of you is the sponsor (i.e., which one of you already has citizenship or permanent residency status in Canada)? That's the person whose name/dob you would put into the system along with your receipt number. When/if the sponsorship is approved the visa office will send you a file...

Application sent January 6th Recieved Jan 7th

Why do you keep asking the same question over and over again? Do you not believe those of us who have told you it is normal to have no record of application until after sponsorship is approved or to never have any record linked to the receipt number (only to the file number which you will...

    Total Headache.

That would have been the US border officials (if your wife is Canadian and was entering the US) and shouldn't have any bearing on what the Canadian border officials did/said when you tried to enter Canada. It shouldn't matter if you're gay or not. In my experience it's easiest to give a...

Yes, mine said nothing (no record found) until then. It never said "processing" or "received" or anything like that.

    Application Status

ECAS didn't show my application until after they had processed and approved the sponsorship and transferred it to the visa office. It never said "in process" for the sponsorship application, just for the PR application afterwards. So I think it's normal. They also generally update ECAS only...

    Application Status

It may or may not include your application. Just try to be patient. Yours will be processed soon. ECAS didn't update for us until a week or two after they had approved the sponsorship.

Has anyone here filed without the Option C printout?

I filed without an Option C as well. I sent in a letter explaining why along with copies of my T4 and pay stubs for the year. No problem.

    Sponsor my Boyfriend

Once you are married, you can sponsor him using the process described on the CIC website. Follow the link "sponsor your family" and the Canadian Residents section. You would apply under "Family Class: Spouses, partners and dependent children". The instructions are provided on the website.

Why did the border official give you a hard time? I've never heard of an American being granted anything less than the usual 6 month visitor status. Did you overstay in the past?

Need Option C but haven't worked in Canada for 3 years

Yes, this is what I did and there was no problem.

    Sponsor Document

I didn't submit an Option C printout as I had not yet filed for my tax refund. I included a letter explaining that as well as copies of my T4 and pay stubs for the previous 12 months and they seemed to be happy with that. If your wife has similar documentation from her out of country job, she...

Confirmation from CIC stating PR Eligibility and its relation to new OHIP rule

I believe that the OHIP eligibility is intended for individuals who are applying IN-LAND. In addition to the requirement that the individual receive a confirmation letter from the CIC confirming they are eligible for PR, the following is required: - you make your primary place of residence in...
