CAIPS and RCMP name check - help!

So we submitted my husband's PR application in early December and have been waiting since. We ordered CAIPS notes last month and I see that the IO in Buffalo requested an RCMP name check back in late January. There is nothing in the notes about the result of the name check ever being received...

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

I'm sponsoring my American husband. He has lived in Canada on temporary work permits for just over two years and has been a visitor here since his last work permit expired in late December. We applied back in the first week of December and our application has been in Buffalo since January...

Thread for applications sent December 2009!!!

Mirkopal, which visa office is processing your application? We sent our file in December 7, it was approved by Mississauga around January 5, then forwarded to Buffalo which "started processing" January 19. We are also still waiting.

Can I get a full time Canadian Job, while applying for PR Outland?

Are you in Canada currently? If so I suggest you look for networking events in the city you are in. I don't know many people (even Canadians) who have gotten jobs through job search websites, most have found them through contacts/referrals. That's not to say it's impossible, but through...

Can I get a full time Canadian Job, while applying for PR Outland?

Not sure that I agree on that one. My husband went through the work permit process twice and it was way faster than his outland PR application processing time has been (<3 months vs. almost 5 months now)

Buffalo: How quickly did you get the AOR?

It's still early - I would wait. We did get an AOR from Buffalo, but it was more than a month after the file was transferred there and I think we only got one because they were requesting a document we had omitted. Like PMM said, Buffalo often doesn't send AORs and the normal processing time...

Thread for applications sent December 2009!!!

Yeah, not sure what is happening at Buffalo now. My husband was in Canada on a work permit which expired in late December and his employer tried several times to get a new LMO approved (so he could get a new work permit) but HRSDC refused to approve it. So his former employer has been kindly...

It's being processed at Buffalo unfortunately. I'm hoping the file isn't languishing in a pile somewhere.

Thread for applications sent December 2009!!!

Congrats! I'm wondering if there are people still waiting for passport requests though... We submitted the application about a week before you did and we're still waiting (I see you got your passport request more than a month ago). We did make the mistake of putting a copy of our...

    Why such a big difference??????

I'm not sure what you are going on about... You applied in-land, right? The current processing time for first stage approval is 6 months. If you submitted an application for an open work permit with your PR application, you could be working in 6 months, no? AND you can apply for provincial...

another question about sponsoring my wife thats already working in canada

There is no minimum income requirement if you are just sponsoring your spouse. However, you still must include the Option C printout. If you do not have one, you can request a copy from Revenue Canada. If you do not have one for other reasons (worked outside of Canada in the previous year...

Proof of Relationship, and other questions.

My husband and I sent in one set of evidence (photos, etc.) but we each wrote a personal letter describing the development of our relationship in our own words. I (the sponsor) attached my letter to the sponsorship application and his was grouped with the PR application. For the second...

Please Help- US Wife Canadian Husband

I don't think this is necessarily true. You are expected to maintain your status otherwise you could be ordered to leave Canada. If your status is lapsed, you can still apply for PR, but technically you are supposed to make every effort to maintain your status. This is not true. Who told...
