    Foreign Service - Strike?

I always thought Harper is more on the lines of a Thatcher, Mulroney, or spokesperson for Imperial oil.

does the sponsor need to stay in Canada 730 days to sponsor a spouse?

From the little information that cic posts, I get the impression that cic are finally beginning to rethink PRs of convenience, who get their free health care ticket punched and then fly back home to make money and not pay taxes to the "host“. This is becoming a bit of an epidemic, especially in...

    Spousal sponsorship

Can anyone give us a concrete answer on this: Last night, my wife told me that outland applicants are prioritized in terms of whether or not the family resides is currently living in the same country. For our case, I am on a visa living in my wife's country while applying outland. My wife has...

    Foreign Service - Strike?

Unions are what keep those wages liveable. We can't all be getting making foreign temp worker wages.

    Foreign Service - Strike?

I wouldn't say that PRs affected by the strike who land in Vancouver only to face an airport strike are being welcomed to democracy. I think they are being welcomed to Harper's Canada, a leadership at war with living wages!

    Foreign Service - Strike?

Believe me, SK is a cakewalk compared to China. The rudeness is amplified 400% over here compared to where you are! That is not to mention the air pollution which sometimes forces us indoors all day long! Anyways, I'm in a similar situation. My visa expires in January and we have not heard from...

Frustrated? Miss your spouse? Vent Here!!

Thats really a terrible situation. I hope you have been at least able to visit your wife and daughter in Mexico couple of times.

System for spousal visitor visas is a joke...

I agree that Canada is "easy" compared to other countries. Canada takes in a LOT of people in spite of a 7.2% unemployment rate. If you open the floodgates too much, the country's quality of living would take a huge hit, which is the whole reason people want to immigrate to Canada in the first...

Anyone been getting PR visas lately?

That's very good news. :) I've only been waiting for 9 months, which is not too long for some, but the anticipation is maddening! ???

Anyone been getting PR visas lately?

I was snooping on the skilled worker and student threads and in spite of the strike, apparently people have been receiving acceptances/rejections lately. However, no one on this forum has posted an acceptance/rejection story in the past couple of months. Has anyone been hearing ANYTHING from VO...

CIC Online Immigration Survey - Make your voice heard before Aug. 31, 2013

Do you have a source or a website link to where you heard about this agreement?

Guys - Need your help pleaseeeeeee - if I can convert my outland to inland

I would probably keep with the application you have already submitted. The speed of either process is slow, especially with the strike. If you wish to alter your application, you can count on an even longer wait and more bureaucratic red tape I would think.

Right now we are in the waiting process for sponsorship but am curious to know what to do in a worst case scenario...

What does a couple do if...

I was wondering what a Canadian/non-visa exempt national couple is expected to do if the sponsorship to Canada is denied? It's unreasonable to assume that the Canadian could easily get a visa (to the non-visa exempt country) for every year for the rest of his/her life. How many times can you...

Is this possible.get your husband into Canada without sponsoring him?

Wow. He must REALLY hate Morocco if he's willing to pull two marriage frauds to get away from it!

How can I prevent a marriage fraud from happening ?

I see the same thing in China from time to time: A very old man (looking like he came from a 1st world country) with a 23 year old Chinese girl on his arm. Even though I do not have a moral objection to this as the terms of their relationship are none of my business, I wonder how these cases are...

How can I prevent a marriage fraud from happening ?

The more I read, the more I realize how common these scams are in Canada. The problem is that Canada has a worldwide reputation for being too soft on immigration. Canada sells itself short by advertising this reputation. On Chinese websites, there are pop up ads everywhere for buying your way...

    family class- need urgent reply

Uh, you obviously have never been to Canada. Chinese people are likely the largest minority in Canada and they are a lot more welcomed and respected than "laowai" are in your country. You probably failed in your bid for immigration because of skills you may be lacking or your sponsor has a...

‘Birth tourists' using Canada's citizenship laws as back door into Canada

Recently, a popular Chinese rom-com movie came out about just this: A rich Chinese businessman sends his two wives to give birth in America, and "hilarity" ensues. The worst part is that it's a common practice especially in Canada, which has the worldwide distinction for being "the easiest 1st...

‘Birth tourists' using Canada's citizenship laws as back door into Canada

I never realized how corrupt the immigration system is until I started my own sponsorship process for my wife. We've done it the suggested way (outland). Meanwhile, most people get travel visas and apply inland. If you are a corrupt official from China you can just buy your way in and not have...
