5th draw over. 481 points and 1620 invites..

Wow, this is pretty good news. I'm in the 400s. Not expecting dips in the cutoff as dramatic as this from now on, but we've got at least 10 more draws this year so I've got a pretty sweet chance of getting ITA in a month or two. Might even end up getting my PR faster with express entry than if I...

One year Graduate Certificate * 2 = 3 year PGWP?

To be eligible for a 3 year work permit, you must complete a full-time program of at least two years, not two programs of one years in length like you are planning on doing. You would only get one year PGWP if you complete two one year programs.

why are people from outside canada favored by CIC than PGWP holders?

A CEC-specific drawing already occurred Feb 27th. 840 CEC applicants were exclusively invited to apply during that round of selection... Mark my word that there will be more program-specific drawings, and It wouldn't surprise me if CEC was the only program with such advantage.

    Your thoughts on this article

Good observation. I don't have any dependents, and as a principal applicant I don't find it fair that dependents are counted towards the total number of applicants.

Concerns on Express Entry for candidates with PGWP/CEC with no LMIA

If you are PGWP holder and meet the minimum requirements for CEC, then fill out the EE profile ASAP and stop worrying about PN and LMIA points. You will be invited to apply under CEC stream, not FSW or FTP, so you won't have to compete with applicants in those streams in which getting an LMIA or...

Can you provide the source? EDIT: Source: https://www.facebook.com/ChrisAlexanderCanada/posts/970929522917383 I think it's a good response and gives me even more hopes of getting picked. If 23,000 is 2015's CEC Cap, then I can definitely rest easy 8) Been telling every CEC applicant the same...

why are people from outside canada favored by CIC than PGWP holders?

I don't think CIC is shifting towards protecting or promoting anyone. The reason CRS and EE were created was to eliminate the "First come/ first serve" model that was prevalent in the old system. If you have LMIA or PN that means that Canada has deemed you as a requirement to fill an economic...

why are people from outside canada favored by CIC than PGWP holders?

Well, I don't think you can compare CEC eligibility with holding LMIA or PNP. I am 100% convinced that the CRS score requirements for the CEC stream are gonna be lower the FSW stream. There has already been a CEC exclusive drawing late February. I am pretty sure that the only skilled worker...

why are people from outside canada favored by CIC than PGWP holders?

You can get LMIA or PNP to support a CEC application in the EE pool... CEC and LMIA/PNP are not mutually exclusive, so no need to trade anything ;)

    Express Entry Without LMIA

You don't need a valid job offer or PN to create EE, but either one gives you 600 points from the CRS matrix.

why are people from outside canada favored by CIC than PGWP holders?

Nobody is being favored by CIC. PGWP holders aren't automatically entitled to PR status, never have and never will. I am PGWP holder and I am eligible to apply under both CEC and FSW program because I have years of skilled work experience, not because I graduated from a Canadian institution. For...

Anybody got 'One year graduate study' in WES Report?

If the WES report indicates "Years of study" and not a completed degree, it is to admissible. My WES report said I had many years of studies, but I was notified that It needed to indicate a complete program of education and not the equivalency in years. Did you finish the program?

Concerns on Express Entry for candidates with PGWP/CEC with no LMIA

I was concerned too until I realized that there's nothing to worry about. We just have to wait and be patient until CIC processes applicants with LMIA or PN. The latest draw had the cut off score at 735, chances are it will continue to decline. PGWP holders don't need to worry, they just need to...

what does this mean for pgwp already employed ??

PGWP is NOT part of International Mobility Program and is not related to that program in any way. IE and PGWP have absolutely nothing in common except that they can lead to PR eligibility. If you have PGWP you can work anywhere you want for as long as the instrument is valid. READ what your PGWP...

    What's your Plan B / Backup plan

If you are applying under the CEC stream, you meet the minimum requirements and your OWP is good for another year or so, I don't think you have to even think of a Plan B. Just be patient and you'll get your ITA. FSW and FST streams are a whole 'nother ball game though, I suggest anyone in the...
