I'm from Cape Breton Island. Though I don't know much about Halifax, I will say that Nova Scotia in general is a great place to live, if you like a quiet life. It's a safe place, the people are very friendly and the scenery is beautiful.

I'd avoid the visitor visa - my husband is from Algeria and I wanted him to be here for the birth of our little girl last month, but his application was denied - they didn't think he would leave Canada after visiting. We're going the sponsorship route now and hoping it'll be successful!

I have the same question, and I have a one month old as well! I took it to mean dependants of his own (like kids from another marriage) so your child wouldn't go on that form.. I could be wrong, though.

Hi, I'm new to this forum :) I'm really glad I came across it, because I would have just submitted the bare minimum for the application (just the forms themselves) I just started getting everything together, so I'm not sure yet when I'll be submitting my application. Good luck everyone!
