I am sitting on 450. if you say PR visa is issued for 1 year then if get mine by 05/2016 then i will be safe i guess as my passport expires by 05/2017 ?

My passport expires in 05/2017. I am in EE pool waiting for ITA first. Now how many months validity is required if i succeed to the final step & CIC requests for PPR. For how many months is permanent residency issued ? Is it advisable to get a new passport ?
