Some of my friends who graduated from 8-12 month Master programs got a 3 year work permit because they were able to attach a job offer to their applications for PGWP. There is no official rule that a job offer guarantees to an applicant a 3 year PGWP. This is just what I witnessed.

My relatives were thinking about immigration to Canada and I recommended this program to them. Today I found out that there might be a quota for this program of 150 nominations. I saw this information on some immigration resources, but nothing on official website. Did anyone hear about this quota?

My advice is to apply to all top CS universities in Canada. U of Toronto, U of Waterloo, U of British Columbia, to name a few.

If I were you I would not apply for Masters because chances to get in are negligible. I think your best shot is Humber college. My friend did their program on DB stream and got a job offer in the 3d term.

In the situation you described , if quota for 2014 stays the same, i.e. 1300, then some (probably early) applications of 2014 might be processed and approved in 2014, but nomination certificates will be issued only when new quota will be available, i.e. in 2015. I suggest read this thread...
