I've received my CAQ (Quebec Acceptance Certficate) for study a master degree which normaly takes about 2 years maximum, as in my Admission letter, start date is 02-09-2014 End date is 31-08-2016 and these dates are exactly what I did request when filling the forms for CAQ but they gave me from 01-08-2014 to 30-11-2015 only which is less than four terms, which means that I've to pursue 5 courses in each term ! and this is more than what I can support, actually I'm willing to be enrolled in the minimum credits to be considered as a full time students which is 9 credits = 3 courses each term.
You know that the study permit will not be issued for a date more than the incdicated in CAQ right, and I've read about the possibility to renewal from inside québec, but what if something happened ? I don't know what could happen. another thing makes me really confused is that I've a friend gone in January 2014 from Algeria also, for a master dergree not in the same university and he got his CAQ valid till january 2016 and my univ is more reputed than his !
Now, I asked my brother in Europe to call them by phone, guess what did they tell him ? they told him that there is a kind a dealing between the gov of québec and Algeria that they don't issue CAQ and study permits for more than one year and students can renew them after studying there and after being evaluated !!!!??? and this is what makes me really confused, means if I study there for one year and for ex failed in one or two course thi evaluation will end my dreams and waste all my money !! and what about my friend who is Algerian and applied from Algeria like me ? this doesn't make any sense !!!
Please friends help me, and in the main time, I'm still talking to the uni and waiting for their feedback.
