Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

I'm going to get my medical done tomorrow at the Sahmyook medical center in Seoul. They told me to bring my passport, photos and a form. I didn't think much of it until now, when I went to download the form (IMM 1017E). However I can't find the form on the site and I'm not even sure if I need...

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

I ended up asking the landlord very nicely and she offered to re-do the entire lease (i think - theres a language gap). I'm not sure if she can legally do that but she said at least she will write a letter. So I think we are all good.

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

Hi, so as I mentioned before in this thread, my fiance and I don't have a ton of proof that we co-habitate. We can get a letter from our landlord (i think if we push) but she is pretty reluctant - mostly because of travel to notary. We do have the certificate of alien registration form...

    Marry or Common Law

I'm only getting back to this now! We don't have a joint bank account. I pay the rent in full and I usually do the shopping etc (as I have a more flexible schedule) and she gives me her half at the start of every month.

    Marriage during common law process

Thanks for the reply. I wonder if setting the date would change that. I have one more related question. My fiance's family is organizing a party/reception in Canada next august. Would mentioning that affect my app? Would I be assuming that I would be admitted into the country? :) I'm probably...

    Marriage during common law process

My fiance and I are getting married in December but are applying now through common law (we've lived together for a year and 3 months. Will that be a problem? Should we mention it in the application? edit: Actually, I found the answer to the first question. It does raise another question...

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

Hey guys, thanks for all the help so far! I have a criminal check question? Do traffic violations show on the criminal check? I have a few speeding tickets to my knowledge in korea (for some reason they sometime don't come to my address). I would have thought not, as they are from the camera and...

    Marry or Common Law

Yea, I have to get all testimonials notarized too? I can get some neighbors to write letters too. As far as the payment reciepts, I paid through my account so would that still work? We have records of her sending money to me but not her to them.

    Marry or Common Law

That's awesome about the bank statements as I foresaw the translation aspect being hard. She doesn't have much mail to our address. We got packages from her mom but we threw those out and she also got some stuff delivered to her work, as we are not at home at postage times. The govt letter is...

    Marry or Common Law

Hi, I asked some questions in other threads but I have a more specific question so I made a new one. I am Irish and my fiance is Canadian. We live in Korea. We are planning at the moment to do a common law application but I'm starting to think we lack evidence to show it. We have lived...

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

Thanks, man. I'll try to confirm for sure if I can do it through London, but if I can I will go that route. In terms of proving co-habitation, we don't have any shared accounts or policies. Would it be worth it to do at this point? We can easily get a letter from the landlord, i'd guess (i...

Anyone want to join a thread for people applying in the near future?

Myself and my fiance are starting this process and we have so many questions! She is Canadian and I am Irish, but we both live in Korea. The main thing I want to know, is that as we have lived in Korea for more than a year do we go through Philipines or the UK (as I'm Irish) or do we get to...
