Gap in Family Name - Additional family info - Irish people especially

I got a new passport this year and have noticed that I have a gap after the 'Mc' in my family name. It wasn't on my old passport. I asked around and a lot of my friends also have gaps in their newish passports. I contacted the embassy and they said its (completely unpublicized) policy and that...

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

Yea it does have my visa status although it doesn't actually use the word visa on the card. It just says Conversation: (E-2). It is almost all in korean. I just scanned it and translated it and wrote a note about it. I was hoping that there would be a form I could get from the Gu Office, but I...

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

Sorry, I should have specified that I am the principal applicant. I thought you guys might know but I guess if the sponsor doesn't need it and your wives are korean then it would be irrelevant to you. ARC: Alien Registration Card. The ID card that foreigners who are on visas carry in Korea.

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

I guess my concern is that I don't have a piece of paper outlining my current visa. I decided to just photocopy my ARC, get a friend to translate it and use that as proof of visa. The last visa i have in my passport was for 2008 I think. I've held the same job since then more or less so...

    Common Law Questions

Ah ok, I looked again and I should have read the introduction to the immi guide. A photocopy is good for western europe (where i'm from) or general asia (where i live) as long as it is in English. Thanks.

Thanks very much! I have one more question. Does a birth cert have to be an original or is a copy ok? Mine is in English.

Did any of you include a copy of your visa for korea? I'm not sure what to do about it except photocopy my ID card maybe. The last time I had a visa put in my passport was a few jobs back.

    Common Law Questions

I have a few questions We are doing a common law application. 1: On some of the forms, you have to write the period of time you lived together. We did the statutory declaration first so the end date on that form does not match the dates on the other forms. Would that be a concern? 2: We are...

    Medical Check Question

I'm applying through London (as common law) as I'm Irish, although I live in Korea. My partner and I were applying in August but setback after setback has meant that we will only get it sent next week. I did my medical check in early July and I'm starting to get worried that the process won't...

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

My landlord finally came back to us with a new lease. She ended up just creating a new back dated lease for the entire two years with my fiance's and I's names on it. This is fine right? I'm assuming that we have to mention in the app that it is a backdated lease? I'm not sure if its relevant...

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

I took the printed out form to the police station, the big one in my gu. That form doesn't exist any more. I filled out a different form and when she saw that the purpose was for Canadian Immi, she sent me to another bigger station to get the one in English.

I just got back from the police station there now. I got the second one or at least applied. I'll get in a week. As far as I could tell, that was the only one I could get as I wasn't given an option.

I'm not sure If I'm missing this, or did you upload the picture of the form for the new check? I'm going tomorrow and I won't have a korean with me so a picture or the name of the form in hangul would be awesome!

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

Sounds good. That is true about Korea in general. The most convenient country in the world in my opinion. A lot of that has to do with the population density. I will miss the same day car fixes (and cheap), internet dude coming same day, drivers license done in 4 weeks (common in ireland to wait...

Wow, that's fantastic news! Do you still fill out the same form? Also, do you still have to make sure about the lapsed record section or is that automatic now?
