They are really dragging behind, me and many of my friends who applied in October have not heard a peep from Mississauga. I wouldn't be surprised if the earliest they start to contact us is in August to ensure a one year processing time from start to finish.

Me too. The citizenship requirement for elections doesn't make sense to me. Permanent residents should be allowed to vote especially that the decision people who are elected make will affect them. Ironic that it's ok to pay taxes and pay for their salaries but it's not ok to vote for them!

At least you did the test, something many of us haven't experienced. Don't worry I bet they'll finish you first before the Mississauga applicants, we're very low priority to them.

When I talked to the agent she said there is no particular order for the checks and that's why some get a test invite (knowledge check) sooner and some later, so possibly they could've completed any or all of the checks before reaching the criminality check.

That's not normal for Calgary. Normal for Mississauga, the slowest center in Canada but not Calgary.

Unless there is an issue with the application, there isn't much to discuss or ask. All is needed is one question: When will you finish my application?!!

There's nothing much we can do, we're totally at their mercy. The counter argument is that you're still within the normal processing time which is one year. We'll just have to suck it up and accept our fate that our applications ended up in the slowest centre in Canada.

It depends on the officer, some do background and then test, some do test then background.

I honestly don't think there is anything that can be done to make Mississauga faster. We can scream our lungs out and make endless petitions but the fact is; it is what it is. No one cares.
