What was the reason for the RQ? Did you have a job in Canada during the eligibility period? Not sure but if they don't get an official record and are not convinced with the reason, I think they could refer you to a citizenship judge.

I could be wrong, don't dwell on my comment. Every time we think we know the process we turn out to be wrong. Her question is possibly to try to understand your ties to Canada.

If you have good proof of physical presence then theres nothing to worry about. I expect you will get an RQ.

I wouldnt rely on the spreadsheet because its misleading. A lot of us have been waiting since October so I would say the average time is one year and its only going to get worse.

Congrats, I gather from your previous posts you're an October applicant. I'm not going to get my hopes high because I've lost all faith in Mississauga. Other places are finishing applications in 3-4 months and we get excited when once in every blue moon Mississauga moves an inch.

Both were working and never travelled so more or less the same background. I believe its down to the queue of the caseworker, if a person is lucky they end up with an efficient caseworker who clears their queue quickly.

@dpendill I would have agreed with the waiting in queue part had I not seen two people who submitted at the same time to the same office, one became a citizen in 4 months while the other is still waiting.

Did anyone from Mississauga receive anything in the last few weeks? Is it just me or does it seem Mississauga didn't process that many people? If this is the pace during the Summer then we might as well forget about it and resume in September!

The 2 years processing time was because decisions used to be made by judges. That changed when decision making moved to citizenship officers who outnumber judges and that reduced times.

If we start thinking of everything that can slow processing, it will depress us. For example the fact that with the new bill a lot of people who were waiting to complete 4 years became eligible at the same time as people who completed 4 years as well as the consideration of Pre PR days. This...

The wait frustration is understandable but it's pointless to aim your frustration at other groups. From previous posts, it appears your cpc is Regina which I imagine won't take as long as applicants in the GTA area. We've been waiting since October and still nothing. Just be patient and humble...
