Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

A guy on another forum suggested asking them for a comment card if you find them being a bit off. Apparently they perk up instantly ;)

I usually check every few days. To save your sanity, you can sign up for an automated service that checks for you and then emails you if your status changes. https://ecas.carroll.org.uk/ Seems the guy who set it up is an immigrant himself from a few years back and obviously had some...

Same. Going to give them a few more days and then contact them again. Frankly with my application I can see zero reason why I'm sitting close to 3 months since a request for more information (already supplied but just not read) and officially "In Process" coming on 6 weeks. No military...

Hope you took the opportunity to berate them for their sluggish inefficiency at the same time.

This sort of thing angers me so much. CIC really need a kick up the ass.

Someone might want to check the formulas...the times are completely wrong on Eabie's row for example.

Completely false. Wikipedia is often helpful at cutting to the chase: "English and French will have equal status of languages of work within the federal public service within geographically defined parts of the country that are designated bilingual (most notably in National Capital Region...

Be wary of "Issued"... 3 weeks for it to get put in an envelope. 2 weeks for the stamp to be added And, if in Canada, another few weeks for Canada Post to mess around with it ;) Canada. FK YEA

Not trying to be funny but he isn't a Canadian resident but merely a visitor so, in effect, has no MP.

Just a big THANK YOU to Canada

...and now multiple reports of the only channel of communication (email) being shut down in London. Anyone sending a message, important information or updates gets a delivery failure bounce notice to say the message can not be sent. Completely unacceptable.

    Finally!

Order your case notes and find out what they were doing (or not doing) to make it such a long wait.

Just a big THANK YOU to Canada

Weren't keeping your eye on IEC visas to Canada eh? The UK allocation for example was gone within hours on each of the 3 days they opened the blocks. Or FSW which has caps of just 300 per occupation? Again good luck if you're one of those applicants. Not that you'll be short of time to think...

Just a big THANK YOU to Canada

You're confusing criticism of CIC with Canada...that aside... Have a friend actually who applied for an H1-B in late March. Approved last week. Sounds fine. Go to the UK as a Canadian spouse and you'll fall into the loving arms of the Border Agency...care to guess their timeline? I'll help you...

Just a big THANK YOU to Canada

There is nothing unique about Canada offering immigration channels to people from outside the country. What is more unique is how bureaucratic and slow it is. No thanks in order in my opinion. I doubt the poor sods who sat around for YEARS in the FSW queue only to have their applications...

Some people are working in London. To my incredible frustration someone who didn't even apply to Mississauga until Jan 2013 has sailed through to completion. Not even so much as an "In Process". No bullshit emails for extra information. Just straight to the finish line. They aren't even...

Yes they've asked quite a few people for this. Me included. The thing that irritated me was that I covered 11 years and that went back until I was 17. Covered both counts and still some numpty in London couldn't read it right and asked for it. We just re-sent the original and drew attention to...

    Spousal sponsorship

Forms usually have a date/version at the bottom so it's always a good idea to check before you mail anything in case they've changed. They'll usually expect the newest one but of course they can change in a day so unless you take the piss and send them forms 3 months later that are out of date...

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

We got a request for some updated information back in mid April so we were sure they were looking at our file. Only went into process on May 30th. May looks like it turned out to be a funny month. A lot of people who went in process in April are still waiting for the finishing line. More often...
