If case you do not have a birth certificate for spouse ,you can use a secondary certificate in lieu of Birth certificate provided it has date of birth and parent/parents name. If the parents name is not on secondary certificate ,one should use a affidavit from parents

One can withdraw only in sixth year after opening the account and with drawl is limited to 50%of closing balance in 4th preceding year. Better to avoid PPF as settlement funds unless the a/c is old and amount is large.
