    Thanks! I called CIC and they said the background check is completed but eligibility check is pending. we are Feb 2017 applicants but I was curious to know if security check is different than background check. they are probably waiting on the security check, hence the delay.

    yes thats normal. i dont believe it will be updated until after the medical. only extra line i have says 'Medical results have been received.

    oh that sucks :/ We called the CIC today and the agent told us that the background check is now complete and they are performing sponsor verification and proof of relationship. he did say we should wait till march, since inland apps are not seen as priority....sigh Atleast I am relieved there...

    February 2017 inland applicant here. nothing after Medical passed in June 2017...The wait is frustrating. on CIC automated call center, it says they are working on Oct 2016 applications and average processing time is now 14 months.. so i really hope we hear something in another 1-2 months by...

    No Idea. I am a Feb applicant and still waiting for SA and AIP. My background check is in process right now. AIP seems to be the one the very last step.

    it means background check is not started yet. It was like that for my app (sponsor) too until we got the med request and it was passed. after that background check went in progress.

    you can usually see it on ECAS, when you login to check your status. it will say the address they have on file. If a mailing address is given, that is different from your home address, that will be there too.

    yes, if you're out of status then you need AIP to apply for OWP and OHIP (for ontario)
