Outland applicants waiting since June-October (or earlier) for AOR should file complaints

FYI, I just received AOR after submitting the complaint. Seems doubtful it's a coincidence. Definitely worth trying for others who have been waiting too long! Best of luck to all :)

Is a request for additional information the same as AOR?

It does indeed start with an F. Thank you for the clarification :) What a relief to know it won't be returned!

Is a request for additional information the same as AOR?

Received my first email with my application number requesting an updated police certificate. No specific AOR email. Does this mean the application is considered otherwise complete or could it still be returned?

Mine says the same, submitted application Sep 30 Received a request for additional information (updated police certificate). Was able to link the application number to my online account! No separate AOR email, but I assume this is the equivalent. Also, curiously, the online account says...

Awesome. That is encouraging. When did you submit your application?

Outland applicants waiting since June-October (or earlier) for AOR should file complaints

We are married! Even if my app does "fly through" once they finally open it, I'm concerned about all the others who have applied around the same time as me that are being ignored. I hope that they keep the promise of 12 months processing, especially for those who can't be with their loved ones.

Ridiculous. Good for him, but IRCC should not forget about us.

Outland applicants waiting since June-October (or earlier) for AOR should file complaints

I don't think making the overall average look better on paper is a good excuse for what they are doing. They should be processing applications according to the order they were received. Maybe a few people haven't updated their trackers, but people in the September and October threads have been...

    JANUARY 2021 OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

I'm from the US. Application was received Sept 30. Have not received AOR or even a temporary file number despite multiple webform requests.

Common, perhaps. Pathetic for sure. Some recent media coverage: https://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/heartbreak-confusion-frustration-applications-for-permanent-residency-are-stuck-in-pandemic-limbo-1.5323859

Outland applicants waiting since June-October (or earlier) for AOR should file complaints

A quick look at the threads and trackers shows that people as far back as June and July are still waiting for AOR while most who submitted in December and January have been receiving theirs quickly. Clearly there is a discrepancy in how IRCC is handling applications, and they are not being...

    JANUARY 2021 OUTLAND SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP

Thanks. I'm unable to call because I'm outside Canada. I did send a webform, which took them over a month to respond "your application was received September 30 and will be processed in the order it was received," which is manifestly untrue.

I sent mine in September and I'm still waiting too. Seems that those of you who submitted in January are being processed faster than we are!

After submitting a complaint, IRCC finally responded to my webform from over a month ago. Their response states "We have received your application on September 30, 2020, and it will be processed according to the date it was received. " Of course, all of us on this thread know this is not how...

Any new information on the latest announced travel restrictions please post here

Apologies if this has already be answered... It seems that spouses of Canadian citizens are still permitted to enter Canada as visitors, even if their PR has not yet been grated. I realize visa requirements still apply, but as a US citizen, I understand I wouldn't require any visa in order to...

Anybody who is not a bureaucrat knows that it is insane to return an entire application for a missing email address on one form. It is an outrage that things such as this are keeping people separated, particularly parents and children. I hope the media continues to report on these things and...
