Received my first email with my application number requesting an updated police certificate. No specific AOR email. Does this mean the application is considered otherwise complete or could it still be returned?

Mine says the same, submitted application Sep 30 Received a request for additional information (updated police certificate). Was able to link the application number to my online account! No separate AOR email, but I assume this is the equivalent. Also, curiously, the online account says...

We are married! Even if my app does "fly through" once they finally open it, I'm concerned about all the others who have applied around the same time as me that are being ignored. I hope that they keep the promise of 12 months processing, especially for those who can't be with their loved ones.

I don't think making the overall average look better on paper is a good excuse for what they are doing. They should be processing applications according to the order they were received. Maybe a few people haven't updated their trackers, but people in the September and October threads have been...

I'm from the US. Application was received Sept 30. Have not received AOR or even a temporary file number despite multiple webform requests.

A quick look at the threads and trackers shows that people as far back as June and July are still waiting for AOR while most who submitted in December and January have been receiving theirs quickly. Clearly there is a discrepancy in how IRCC is handling applications, and they are not being...

Thanks. I'm unable to call because I'm outside Canada. I did send a webform, which took them over a month to respond "your application was received September 30 and will be processed in the order it was received," which is manifestly untrue.
