Korean Police Certificate -- ILLEGAL document

Can confirm a similar experience. In my case, in included emails from the Korean national police agency, Korean embassy in Toronto and Canadian embassy in Seoul. The first two stated that it was not possible to get be document with lapsed records. The Canadian embassy suggested I submit the...

*** September 2020 - Outland Spousal (Family Class) Sponsorship ***

Got pre-arrival letter last week. Anyone know the usual timeline between that and decision made? (I assume DM will lead to COPR in my case rather than PPR as I'm a US citizen.) Thanks for any insight!

*** September 2020 - Outland Spousal (Family Class) Sponsorship ***

I don't know, unfortunately. I was never informed, and when I sent a webform asking I just got a generic reply "rest assured your application is in process." Judging by the speed and the fact that I'm a US citizen, maybe Ottawa?

Travel Restrictions - Outland - just got approved and CoPR, when can I come?

Spouses of Canadian citizens are exempt from the travel restrictions

    We're going for it!

Thanks for the links. It looks like I likely won't be considered a resident of Canada for 2021 (I'll have lived in Korea for more than half the tax year) but this residency requirement can definitely come into play by 2022 if I'm not already PR by then. I'll save these links and dive more...

    We're going for it!

Yes, I would be an independent contractor and I don't believe any of the companies I've looked at have any offices in Canada - all based in China. I suppose I can try to find one that is looking specifically for Americans. When you say that I'd have to pay Canadian taxes...I know that would be...

    We're going for it!

To be clear, any work that is being done remotely and being paid to a US bank account is allowed for US citizens visiting Canada? Even if that work could theoretically be done by Canadians (or Australians, Brits, etc.) as well - specifically, I'm thinking of teaching English to Chinese kids...

They asked for an updated police certificate from the Czech Republic, where I lived for about a year. I had sent a copy of an old one since I hadn't been back in years, but they wanted an up to date one.

Thank you! Now, if only I knew which VO it was at! Any insight as to where they'd put a US citizen based in South Korea at the moment? I heard Ottawa is usual for US citizens. I sent a webform asking, but just got a generic reply that "your application is in progress"

TRV approval while outland PR sponsorship in process

The application is still considered outland even if she comes to Canada as a visitor. Yes, she can travel to Canada on her TRV while waiting for PR. But, since I see the PA is from India (based on your signature), she is going to have to wait until the ban on flights from India is lifted...

Getting Ontario Health card while Inland sponsorship in process

Do outland applications get AIP as well? I'm planning on entering Canada as a visitor in July. Perhaps it will be close to DM by then (September 2020 applicant).

I don't suppose anybody knows what this addition on ECAS means: "We started processing your application on April 20, 2021." I thought it might mean the start of the background check, but no change on GCKey since medical. Is it just a ghost update? GC Key still shows the following: Review of...

confusion about land border testing requirements

I know that in order to enter Canada from the border with the United States, one needs to be tested within 72 hours of entry. But I also understand that many border crossings conduct testing on site. Is the test taken at the border sufficient, or is it necessary to get tested at a clinic in...

Booking vaccine appoints in Canada from abroad?

Thanks for the quick reply. Can she apply for OHIP before arrival? I was under the impression that vaccines did not require status or OHIP coverage as per this story. Has the situation changed...

Booking vaccine appoints in Canada from abroad?

My wife and I (She is Canadian, I am American) are currently living in South Korea where we work as teachers. We have to leave Korea in early July so she can start a new job in Canada. My PR is in process but I understand I'm exempt from the travel restrictions as her spouse. We would ideally...

Do you have any receipt from your visit to the panel physician? I would recommend sending that via webform and asking for confirmation it has been received.

How long does it take to get sponsor approval

I'd recommend sending a webform. My sponsor approval was approved the day after AOR, but I didn't find out until 3 weeks later because the letter was sent by regular mail. It's possible you have received SA but your letter was lost in the mail.
