PR card - March 2020 processing time

Ours is a renewal. Plenty of travel, but otherwise straight forward application. Also while status appears as DM, the underlying detail only says "we started processing your application". Not sure whether the next step is "application approved", or "card sent".

PR card - March 2020 processing time

ECAS update this morning, shows status as "Decision Made". It doesn't say yet if the cards have been dispatched, but hopefully soon. We received your application for a permanent resident card on March 5, 2020. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on July 27...

PR card - March 2020 processing time

Our family also received e-mail AORs this afternoon, acknowledging receipt of the application on March 5th. Don't see this on ECAS yet. I will post further updates as received. Good luck to everybody waiting.

PR Card Processing Times as per CIC website

This post is not about IRCC, and I'm not seeking to argue but to share my thinking. It is a somewhat philosophical personal take, having observed Canada as a newcomer. I was attracted to Canada's transparent immigration points system, and clear process. Breath of fresh air compared to the...

PR card renewal now 299 days..

Wow, a lot of strong views on both sides. Up until COVID, my experience with IRCC has been fine. But being witness over the past few months to quick/smart/thoughtful changes that a variety of organizations have made to adapt to COVID, it's quite clear to me that IRCC has dropped the ball. For...

PR card renewal now 299 days..

This is a simple and elegant solution.

PR Card Processing Times as per CIC website

Correct, hoped for a lot, but got very little. The hope was that IRCC would be different from a typical monopoly / protected class of workers. If your response is to find inconsistencies in my views, or justify the collapse in IRCC's productivity, I have nothing further to say. I'm just a...

PR Card Processing Times as per CIC website

And IRCC cannot have a handful of staff coming into work to handle that part of all applications? Given other essential services are functioning in Canada, IRCC can surely do it for 10% of their work which involves liaison with foreign countries. Look, we can debate this till the cows come...

PR Card Processing Times as per CIC website

Are you saying IRCC staff worked on CERB applications? Regarding sensitive information, that is a cop out. If financial firms subject to far more onerous banking regulations and securities laws can figure out a way to securely transmit information and work remotely, it should be possible for...

PR Card Processing Times as per CIC website

Realize that not all Canadians think like me. Perhaps I have higher expectations of what it is to be a public servant - agile, responsive, and keen to find solutions, rather than offering reasons not to. Industry after industry is finding sensible and reasonable workarounds, and some of them...

PR Card Processing Times as per CIC website

And therein lies the answer. Job security means they can sit on their backsides, blame it on COVID, not give a damn, and still get paid.

    Tax advisor referrals?

Does anybody have recommendations for a tax advisor? I do NOT need help with filing tax returns or T-1135 (been doing that for 3 years) or standard TFSA/RRSP planning. Looking for intelligent and thoughtful tax planning advise on capital gains / recurring investment income on a global portfolio...

PR Card Processing Times as per CIC website

Wishing you well, and hope you and your husband are reunited soon. I'm also waiting since sending in a PR renewal application in February. Fortunate that it is not impacting our family severely, but empathize with your situation. The pandemic is being offered as the reason for these delays...

PRC (Permanent Resident Card) Renewal Timeline 2019

Is there anybody whose application was sent in Feb / Mar, who has received email acknowledging receipt, or who is able to see ECAS status online?

PR Card (New/Renewal) Processing Timeline 2020

PR renewal application delivered on March 5th, but still not visible in ECAS. Is this normal?

    Screening for COVID-19

Happy to report my wife boarded her flight in Mumbai, and lands in Toronto tomorrow morning. She will self-isolate for 14 days. Mumbai airport currently is a ghost town, Air Canada is one of the few airlines still flying. We have friends who weren't as lucky to get onto earlier flights. India...

    Screening for COVID-19

Given demand appears to be there both directions, Air Canada should be fine continuing to fly to Mumbai. The wild card is what the government decides. As things stand, covid impact in India is relatively mild, but the situation is dynamic.

    Screening for COVID-19

Yeah, 14-day home isolation once she gets to Toronto is the easy part. Given our family situation with young kids here with me in Toronto, I'm more concerned that the flight will get canceled :(

    Screening for COVID-19

She will be ok in Mumbai, but kids and I desperately need her back in Toronto :) Given American Airlines canceled all long haul international flights, there is a very good chance Air Canada is looking to rationalize capacity as well. We tried getting her onto an earlier flight, not a single...

    Screening for COVID-19

Our family are all PRs, and have been physically living in Canada since 2016. My wife had to go to India couple of weeks back due to a family emergency, and is scheduled to land back in Toronto Pearson on Sunday morning. She is flying direct on Air Canada from Mumbai. Canada just announced it...
