    Minor applicants tracker status

My spouse and I have seen our ECAS status change to DM, and all tracker statuses now read "Completed" except Citizenship Ceremony which reads "Not Started". However, ECAS status for our minor children still reads "In Progress", and on their tracker pages Prohibitions just changed to "Completed"...

    November 2020 - Citizenship Application

Fingerprinting is for background check, they do it for some but not all applicants. PP copies is for physical presence, again they do it only for some applicants. I got FP request before the test invite, and PP copies request after test completion.

IRCC Scarborough Applicants - Online Test/Interview/DM/Oath

Took 10 days after IRCC received PP copies, for status to change to DM Yes, you should have it translated. I used these guys Official Certified Translations - Docsbase

IRCC Scarborough Applicants - Online Test/Interview/DM/Oath

Congrats! Can you confirm your timeline for DM --> Oath invite date --> Oath ceremony date, was Aug 25 --> Oct 15 --> Oct 16? Scarborough appears to be scheduling oath ceremonies 4-5 months after DM for most applicants, but much faster for some applicants. Does anybody have any theories?

IRCC Scarborough Applicants - Online Test/Interview/DM/Oath

To have a better quality of life? To get paid better than in one's home country? To be closer to family who have immigrated earlier? To work at an organization that may do interesting work in one's field? But what do any of these reasons for wanting to be in Canada have ANYTHING to do with...

IRCC Scarborough Applicants - Online Test/Interview/DM/Oath

Just received request for passport pages. Test status changed to "Completed" on August 10th, so it took about 6 weeks.

I have got Request Letter (evidence) after receiving Citizenship Test letter 2 weeks ago

Hi Raj, hope you are well. 1. When you uploaded the scanned pdf to Docsbase, did you send them all passport pages, or only those that needed translation? 2. Also, I'm wondering about pages where stamps are bilingual, with both English and a foreign language. I have a bunch of bilingual stamps...

Citizenship test: Collective action required, or expect endless delays, years. Example of the effective lobbyng of people awaiting spousal sponsorship

Fear-mongering... Justin and Jagmeet's super power. Second only to the cynical opportunism of calling an election "just because", and now running scared because they misread the electorate. Voters should ask themselves a simple question: why did the liberals call an election?

Citizenship test: Collective action required, or expect endless delays, years. Example of the effective lobbyng of people awaiting spousal sponsorship

Thank you for saying this. I realize a citizenship thread is a poor choice of venue to have these debates. Sadly it generated more heat than light, but may be that was to be expected. By definition, people here are interested in a smooth and quick path to receiving their Canadian passports, and...

Citizenship test: Collective action required, or expect endless delays, years. Example of the effective lobbyng of people awaiting spousal sponsorship

Not privatization. VFS or BLS do all the grunt work, and final decision rests with IRCC.

Citizenship test: Collective action required, or expect endless delays, years. Example of the effective lobbyng of people awaiting spousal sponsorship

Another reason for IRCC's administrative and routine functions to be outsourced to private service providers like VFS or BLS. They are far from perfect, but service levels can be contractually mandated, and can't use COVID or Afghanistan or something else as an excuse. This will free up...

Translation of passport stamps outside eligibility period

If an entry/exit stamp before the eligibility is not translated, how can IRCC confirm that it is actually before the eligibility period? I would translate all foreign language visa stamps.

Citizenship test: Collective action required, or expect endless delays, years. Example of the effective lobbyng of people awaiting spousal sponsorship

Strawman? Read the last couple of pages on this thread, and see how many times you hinted people head over south. There's no need to change the mindset of 37 million people. 42% of the vote in 2019 went to Conservative/BQ. Canada is more than Liberal/NDP.

Citizenship test: Collective action required, or expect endless delays, years. Example of the effective lobbyng of people awaiting spousal sponsorship

You are assuming I don't have a green card. You also seem to be suggesting people need to either share your "mediocre" (your word) vision for Canada, or leave. Canada is a big country, and a liberal democracy at that. Plenty of space for my preference to pedal harder, and yours to remain...

Citizenship test: Collective action required, or expect endless delays, years. Example of the effective lobbyng of people awaiting spousal sponsorship

It's nice to have the money to fund vaccine making overseas. I'd prefer my country to have its own capabilities in both vaccine research and vaccine manufacture. Canada is no longer the country that once gave insulin to the world. We need to (and can) change a few things to get back on track...

Citizenship test: Collective action required, or expect endless delays, years. Example of the effective lobbyng of people awaiting spousal sponsorship

Agreed on both counts. Wish we had a better understanding of this a few years back, we certainly share our views with friends considering immigrating. Judging by my kids personalities, completely aside from work ethic and smarts, the elder (kinder, unambitious) is a better fit for Canada than...

Canadian median wealth per capita you quote is news to me, but wikipedia agrees with you, so bravo on the find. I'm an investor, I go where the data leads me, and have no problem adjusting my views, but I will say the findings are at odds with personal experience. Compensation is night and day...
