    June 2021 - Citizenship Applicants

Congrats! Really happy for you that your background check finally completed. It's great that your MP was able to schedule a meeting with IRCC, because some other people have reported being told by their MPs that IRCC will no longer communicate with them regarding individual files. Maybe your MP...

    Citizenship Certificate After Oath

Sorry to hear that you are still waiting after so long! Perhaps the mail carrier misdelivered it to a neighbor? you might want to knock on a few neighbors' doors and ask if any of them received a large, dark brownish/orangish yellow envelope addressed to you. it's about 1.5 inches wider and...

    ATIP request

Yes, decision made before ATIP results arrived for me. I requested GCMS notes due to lack of movement almost 3 months after my test. 2 weeks later, I got to Decision Made. The GCMS notes arrived another 2 weeks later. Many people have reported seeing movement shortly after ordering GCMS notes.

    June 2021 - Citizenship Applicants

A month and a half is plenty of time. The turnaround time for certificates is 6 weeks for the slowest offices (namely Montreal). You will find out the office doing your oath when you receive the email, but most likely it will be either Ottawa or Niagara Falls. Niagara Falls is one of the faster...

    Canadian Passport in person timeline

It means that it is in progress. That was my status when I called earlier this month. I'm not sure, but I know mine was in "examination" at the beginning of this month and then "approved" when I called last week. I recommend that you call instead of submitting an online status check. Then you...

    March 2021 - Citizenship applications

It's normal if your sister applied on paper, because unfortunately IRCC has been processing 2022 paper applications in 3-6 months, while using COVID and other stupid excuses to drag older applications on. You should be seeing progress soon. 2021 applications are normally taking 12-18 months...

    Canadian Passport in person timeline

Yes, people who applied between May and August seem to have hit the peak backlog, when everyone was taking summer vacations, and were taking 4 months. September regular service seems to be closer to 2 months. October onward seems to be back to standard turnaround times.

    August 2021 - Citizenship Applicants

2022 paper applications are consistently being processed in 3-6 months, while basically the older the application, the longer the delay. The worst off are late 2019 and early to mid 2020 applicants, who are waiting 2+ to 3+ years. I think as many people as possible should go to the media. I...

    June 2021 - Citizenship Applicants

Wow that's crazy, being disconnected that early in the morning and on a day in the middle of the week! But glad you finally were able to get through.

    CIT0520E-Interview

Agreed. @sarah98 I don't know what the form and instructions said when you applied 3 years ago, but I do know that the wording for that question (currently question 13) was extremely unclear for a long time and only recently became more clear that they want to know your lifetime history of...

    June 2021 - Citizenship Applicants

Aw thanks! Happy to share all that I've had to learn over this too-long process, although I know yours has been dragging on for even longer

    Canadian Passport in person timeline

Congrats! Very happy for you. Glad you were able to get the passports in time and for pickup without extra charge. I called the passport number a second time and finally they said my application was approved and to allow 2 weeks for delivery. That will make about 17 months total for me, which...

    March 2021 - Citizenship applications

Based on comments in numerous threads on this forum of people being interviewed, experiencing delays, and/or having their applications put on hold because they took the test outside Canada or otherwise notified IRCC about being outside. There are too many individual posts to find and list, but...

    June 2021 - Citizenship Applicants

I heard that you have the best chance of reaching a human if you call early in the morning, right as they are opening at 8 AM. Hope you are able to reach someone and at least get an update soon. It really is ridiculous and very unfair how IRCC is heavily prioritizing 2022 paper applications...

    Question 13-citizenship application

The wording of the question is not great, but the instructions, as well as the presence of dropdown options for visitor visas, for question 13 suggest that they do care about tourist visas...

    Question 13-citizenship application

IRCC probably does not care about these tourist visas from childhood. However, it is best to disclose them in an LOE to be safe. List the trips for which you had the visitor visas and the dates the best you can remember, and write in the LOE that you no longer have the old passports with those...

    Physical presence mistake

Withdraw ASAP so that you can reapply ASAP. Yes, only physical presence up to application date counts. Good news is that since you have continued staying in Canada since applying in March, you now have a very comfortable buffer over the minimum, which should also make your new application go...
