Did you get your original documents back?

Similar to mine. I sent mine by Purolator on April 12th. Received my original documents about 50 days later and see an acknowledgement date of May 25th on the OCI portal. I sent a couple of emails to the HCI, but I have little hope that it will do much. The patience is wearing thin.

Still 'under-process' today

I was hoping to visit my family in July, but it does not look like it will happen. I can apply for the entry visa, but after waiting this long for OCI, I much rather wait a bit longer and travel later this year. :)

I too should have done this in 2019. I got lazy back then and now the OCI process is soooo slow. I am paying for my laziness. Haha

I hear you. Its unbelieveable that I submitted my application on April 12th and I finally got the OCI acknowledgement date of May 25th. I check my OCI status page so often that I have now memorized my passport number and OCI case number. LOL :)

Are Ottawa OCI applications processed slower than Toronto in general?

The only thing that I can think of is that my previous Indian passport was obtained in the US because the older passport was out of pages. I applied under tatkal and may be (just maybe) the police verification was not done back in 2012. This is just a speculation. I cannot think of any other...

I called BLS and the guy I talked to said that 'under process' means that verification is still ongoing. Not sure how long it takes, but the guy said that it can take as long as 8 weeks :(

OCI still says 'Under Process' for an acknowledgement date of May 25th. What advice you fellow applicants have? What is the best way to escalate this? BLS folks say that if the OCI portal says 'under process' there is nothing they can do to escalate the case. Do you have any tips or suggestions...

Do people see updates at all times during the day? Or is it during business hours in India?

My acknowledgement date is May 25th. I am still waiting to see some update. It looks like Ottawa applicants are always behind on these applications :(

So sorry that you had to go through this ordeal. Those guys are absolute scam artists. They are simply exploiting us abroad. When I applied for SC at BLS Ottawa back in 2019, all I had to do was show them my citizenship certificate. I did not have a Canadian passport at that time.

I will try this next week. However I am not sure how much BLS can help. The application is now with the MEA in New Delhi. Thank you so much for the suggestion.
