OCI portal acknowledgement date of May 25th. I am waiting for a status update. I check the portal every couple of hours to see if there has been any movement. Still shows 'under process' :)

Most people on this forum have been reporting an average processing time of about 4 weeks (after the status changes to 'under process' on the OCI portal). Hopefully this does not get stretched any further. Fingers crossed.

The month-long wait on the OCI portal for update from 'Under Process' feels excruciatingly long. LOL

Does anybody know a way to auto-populate the OCI website so we can check the status easily? I have memorized my case number by now, but it still take a while to type it out. LOL. Any IT/web-experts who have an idea? Perhaps there is some script that I can make that will auto-fill the fields on...

I hear you my friend. I have experienced exactly the same problem. Hopefully after you get the OCI, you would never have to deal with these incompetent fools again. Fingers crossed for you.

The problem is that all these calls get diverted to a call center in India. The people there have no idea of how things function here and as a result each person gives a different response and the worse part is that many people simply hang-up the call :(

The irony of the situation is that my original documents got dispatched from BLS Montreal even though I sent everything to BLS Ottawa. Go figure :) Not sure how BLS functions :(

BLS Ottawa is really terrible. Everything is slow with them. They held on to my original documents for 50 days. If you are in Ottawa, can you go visit them? They now allow walk-ins from what I have read.

Both. You need to upload a picture on the online portal and include a copy of the photograph with the application form. I included two copies of my photograph and BLS returned one when they sent me back my original documents. Cheers!

@jagadishgandhi and @saketh_s_ the originals are kept just for mailed-in applications from what I understand. For walk-ins, the originals are returned immediately after verification. Although you never know, eh. They may find ingenious ways to scam us again and ask us to leave originals for...

Me too - Born and raised in Bombay :)

I have read that Bombay airport has a separate / dedicated lane for OCI card holders. Not sure about other airports.
