I've seen outland PRs done in 6-8 weeks but usually it's closer to 6 for inlands without a provincial nomination. But no-one knows how long it will take... so hope yes but in the meantime expect that it will take longer and plan accordingly IMO...

Yes but he needs to actually apply for a BOWP. He hasn't. And unless he does he won't be on implied status. That's my understanding. I am suggesting he apply immediately by paper and add a letter explaining his circumstances. I got my BOWP in 110 days and I didn't ask or plead for it to happen...

You will only legally be on implied status if you actually apply to renew your 'current status'... (depending what kind of permit you are on)A PR application does not constitute 'implied status' in my opinion. So to the best of my understanding you will be illegal to work on May 13th anyway...

All looks good to me. I'd say you'll get a passport request any day now and wouldn't worry about the B/G check as it seems fairly inconsistent as to how it's updated (unless you're a criminal that is;)

Hi Glenn, You have to wait until 4 months before the expiry of your current WP before you can apply. It really depends on your situation but as I said if you don't need to leave Canada and travel anywhere I would wait until May or the last week or two of your current WP and then apply by paper...

Hi, I got 1 year. It was dated from when they processed my application and not when I actually applied. I was on 'implied status' for a while as I waited. I submitted it by paper. Took around 16 weeks. If you don't need to travel I recommend submitting it by paper

Update: I received my BOWP although I'm unsure if my PR application had technically progressed succfiently. Nonetheless delighted all the same!

FYI I got a bridging permit in the mail last week based on my PR application which I submitted in January. Not sure if it's indicative of my application having progressed sufficiently or if I was just lucky. By the letter of the law I think my PR application might not have progressed...
