Classic law school case, not classical....please HELP!

So are you saying that your spouse has been out of Canada since August 2018? So 4 years and 2 months? If that is true then the spouse doesn't meet the requirements for Permanent Residency. To keep your permanent resident status, you must have been in Canada for at least 730 days during the last...

    2021-2022 Online Applicants

Or IRCC can move all applications to online only so they'll actually have time to finish paper applications and fully focus on online only. But that makes too much sense.

    2021-2022 Online Applicants

Government-run organizations are not exactly known for their competence or efficiency. Imagine sending staff home for over 1 year and not making any plans for applications that were in the system or that were still coming in. And its been 2 years since online applications started and they are...

    2021-2022 Online Applicants

True, we just have to be patient, there's not much we can do.

    2021-2022 Online Applicants

They did it to become more flexible, but they made a mistake in allowing people to apply online without first building the capacity to process the applications. Most IRCC staff don't see Citizenship as an application that needs prompt service because they claim that all applicants already have...

    2021-2022 Online Applicants

It's easier to make AOR for online applications because in paper apps you have to go through all the pages and then scan the attached copies of passports and ID's whereas for Online apps it's already in the system, they just have to read through quickly for accuracy or any omissions.

Canada will grant 300.000 citizenship for the 2022-2023 year

Yeah, some persons on this site may just be trolls or IRCC staff. I'm learning to stop engaging when people start trolling in their responses. I remember when we were complaining about IRCC prioritizing paper over online applications in 2022 and some persons on here were saying we are...

Canada will grant 300.000 citizenship for the 2022-2023 year

Haha, don't say our thoughts out loud lol. Here I was thinking by applying online that I was saving the environment and also helping the IRCC staff by reducing the workload. I should have bought a clown suit with the money I saved from not printing countless pages for the paper application.

Canada will grant 300.000 citizenship for the 2022-2023 year

Nuances my friend. We should not applaud mediocrity. IRCC has not lived up to expectations. Would it not have been fair for IRCC to tell us that they could only process a few Online applications because they are testing their systems? Do you think its fair that people are waiting since 2019...

Canada will grant 300.000 citizenship for the 2022-2023 year

Yeah, we are basically asking for the same thing. If IRCC can process some 2022 paper applicants in 3 to 4 months then they can also clear out most of the 2019-2020 in 3 to 4 months. There's no real consistency in what to expect. I'm sure most people would want to get this over with and not wait...

Canada will grant 300.000 citizenship for the 2022-2023 year

That's not what I meant. Do you think it's fair that people who applied in 2019/2020 are still waiting while people who applied on paper in 2022 are getting theirs done in 3 to 4 months? Or do you think it was fair for online applicants to wait 8 months to see any movement in their files while...

Canada will grant 300.000 citizenship for the 2022-2023 year

The real question is if all applications are moved online, would IRCC do a first in-first out processing or would they do a modified first in-first out like they are presently doing? All we want is some fairness and transparency. They used online applicants as test subjects for their fantasy...

    IRCC 2022-2023 Plans ATIP

That's true. I will just keep checking the tracker weekly because there's nothing I can do. I applied online in May 2022 and everyone who applied at the same time as me on paper already has their certificate. IRCC was using Online applicants to test their systems. They did not think that their...

    IRCC 2022-2023 Plans ATIP

I just read the article. It just looks like when you say a lot but do not give any specifics so you cant be held accountable.

    Paper > Online ATIP Proof

So 2 more months of Paper applications then online applications have to wait until IRCC finishes the over three hundred thousand paper inventory first. I wish IRCC told us before we applied that they were just testing Online applications and had no intention of processing them it's so unfair...

    Paper > Online ATIP Proof

They claim to be training new staff but we now know it's just lies. IRCC hasn't been truthful throughout this backlog process

    Paper > Online ATIP Proof

But that would mean that IRCC doing their jobs. If you have ever been inside any government office you'll know that they just show up and get paid. They know that it's almost impossible to fire them so there is no incentive to actually do any work. Like its been almost 2 years and IRCC hasn't...

    February 2022 - Citizenship Applications

IRCC chose to prioritize 2022 paper applications over all other applications. So most people would just have to wait, unfortunately. Calling, ordering GCMS, or emailing MP's would do nothing to help.

    Citizenship fee waiver

I would not bet on it happening any time soon. They can't even handle the volume of new applications plus the backlog right now. If they let every eligible person apply for free then be prepared to wait decades for citizenship.
