If you have passed the test and in your previous call they told you that it's in line to be updated, then why are you still calling IRCC? I understand people get excited but think about other people who might need to call in for important reasons and they are unable to get in.

You only need the certificate to get your passport. CBSA already has your information so there should be no issue. It can be printed off at any time if you want a physical copy. Once you are a citizen if you get to an entry point on the border even without a passport they can always look you up.

This can be solved by e-certificates, but IRCC likes to drag their feet with new technology.

They started a pilot process where they send out e-certificates after the oath for some persons. You'll think that it would have been fully adopted for all applicants. It saves a lot of time and money, and it also ensures that certificates don't get lost in the mail.
