    Medical exam shouldn't be older than 5 years and you also should live all these 5 years in Canada (not to be absent more than 6 months).

    If your common-law is an Canadian then you are considered alone in your application. I am in the same situation, IRCC agent told me that I am alone, because a Canadian citizen obviously can't be your dependent. Also if she/he is not your sponsor, then you are 100% alone in the application.

    I am not sure what else they can check there. Your criminal history and visits or stays in another country. It's my opinion.

    Well, you actually should've informed them as soon as it happened. Especially if it happened last year. It doesn't matter that your partner is resident already, they need to know all changes, that's why webform exists. I hope it won't influence your application or it's speed of treatment.

    The biggest question is why do they skip people. I think maybe for someone background/security check takes longer due to big travel list, that's why they are trying to fill up quota with ppl who has "simpler" applications.

    It's nothing to worry about, the message from IRCC is very clear, I am not sure how else someone can help from this forum, because it's nothing to help. They literally just told you that your medical is good for now.
