Outland Application Question - How do we put the package together?

Hey everyone, Tomorrow is our big day in that we're sending off our Common Law application off. We've spent the past few months organizing our proof... We've got utility bills, our joint mortgage (which we've lived in for a year), pictures from throughout our relationship, bank statements from...

Outland Application from Within Canada? Who has done it?

Thanks for clearing that up. How did you approach the part on IMM 5490 when it asks if there was a formal celebration to signify your common law union? Seems like a strange reason for a party, no? lol Also, what about the section when it asks how often do we communicate, how did you approach...

Outland Application from Within Canada? Who has done it?

Hey everyone. Just working my way through the outland forms and I wanted to clarify something. Do I (the sponsor) also have to fill out a copy of the IMM5669 form? The checklist is leading me to believe that it's only to be filled out by the sponsored person, is that right? "for the sponsored...

Outland Application from Within Canada? Who has done it?

Thanks for the reply. Obviously your application worked out fine with generic dates listed. That will be what I have to do as well. I have rough guesses of when I was in certain countries but that's about it. Since it's so cheap to travel there, I would bounce in and out of countries for the...

Outland Application from Within Canada? Who has done it?

Thanks for the reply! One problem is that I stayed in a lot of hostels and always paid cash for everything. And anyone who's been to SE Asia knows they don't give receipts for anything there lol. I do like the Facebook idea, I'm sure I can find things through there for sure. Do you think it...

Outland Application from Within Canada? Who has done it?

One question I have is about my personal history that I have to include. I travelled for 10 months in 2009 but since then I have gotten a new passport and they took my old one. I bounced around between countries a lot and I'm not sure how I can do an accurate account of where I was? Any thoughts?

Feeling Overwhelmed - Outland or Inland

Thanks for the reply! The reason I ask is that I may have been in Thailand for 6 months but I'm not 100% sure. Since then I've gotten a new passport and they took mine when I got my new one so I don't know for sure. But you don't think that I need to to get police checks?

Outland Application from Within Canada? Who has done it?

Thanks for the heads up on the RCMP check! We actually have a police station just down the road so we'll definitely make time for that as well. We've never had any run ins with the law so the police checks should be a breeze.

Feeling Overwhelmed - Outland or Inland

Thanks for the reply! Do you mean if I (Canadian) stayed there for longer than 6 months or my spouse? In total I think she was there for 2-3 months tops before we moved on to a different region.

What do you mean by lived in Thailand? The reason I ask is that my spouse and I actually met while travelling in Thailand?

Outland Application from Within Canada? Who has done it?

Thanks for the reply! I guess I forgot to mention that my spouse is currently in Canada on an IEC visa that is valid until June 2015. From what I've read, this should be lots of time to get things done. Would you agree? At the moment we're gathering all the proof we can find that we've lived...

Outland Application from Within Canada? Who has done it?

Hey everyone! After receiving some really good advice, notably from Sweden and Canuck_in_uk, we have decided to do the outland application from within Canada. I just wanted to see if anyone else had done this and if there is any advice they can offer? A little background, my common law spouse...

    November spreadsheet ?

Hey everyone! Any of you applying outland from within Canada? After reading through lots of posts and advice I think that's what we're going to do. Just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat.

Feeling Overwhelmed - Outland or Inland

This is all great stuff. Is the outland application the way you guys applied while living in Canada? From what I can gather the forms are basically the same. I tried finding where it says in the guidelines that CIC encourages people to submit the application outland even if they are living in...

Feeling Overwhelmed - Outland or Inland

Thanks guys, this has been great advice and definitely makes us both feel better. Can the medicals still be completed in Canada even though we'll be doing the Outland application? I just took a quick look online and there are several doctors, in Edmonton, that are able to do the exam...

Feeling Overwhelmed - Outland or Inland

Sweden, Thanks so much for the response! One of our biggest concerns will be the interview. If I understand correctly, if we're called in for an interview it would have to be done in Sydney, right? Reason I ask is because flying my spouse to Sydney is a large expense. Do you know if they give...

Hey everyone, Brand new to this forum but I've been reading it for a long time. Firstly, I'll apologize that I'm sure this has been brought up countless times, but I'm hoping you fine folks will help me out anyway. I'll give a little background on our situation before I get to the question...
