Anyone have experience becoming a PR at YTZ Toronto Island Airport? Seems like they have a much smaller customs setup there and just wondering if the procedure is the same as any other airport.

It seems like he would need to apply for an ESTA under then new Visa Waiver Program in the USA. Any idea how long these applications take to process? Are they instantaneous like the ETA?

I was not aware of that. I guess that can hold up an ETA? I am assuming you do not need at ETA at the land border crossings? Will he need an ESTA for travel to the USA?

Hmmm ok. I imagine there is no issue returning to the USA though. I imagine the return ticket only helps in terms of the officer being able to sleep at night with their decision...

USA citizen needs to travel to Canada for one day to visit family in the hospital. Just realized passport expires in 3 days from now. Will he be allowed into Canada tomorrow for 1-2 even though passport expires day he returns to USA? He can show customs official his return ticket to fly home to USA.

Is it possible to apply for an H and C while the spousal sponsorship application is still in progress? If the result is likely a rejection then it would probably be worthwhile to get the application going now.

Rob, I did not see a definition for owned, possessed and used abroad. What is the proper amount of time one has to own an item before it qualifies?

I believe she can bring in any personal belongings that were already in her possession. Not sure she can go out and make large purchases for the sole purpose of bringing in with her to Canada though may be wrong about that.
