I agree with forw.jane - I would not alter the OATH at all. You can get a passport within two days (expedited with proof of travel).

I feel you Locco! It's utterly frustrating - and the process is not at ALL transparent. We are awaiting 'additional verifications' of what???

Not in our case ....applied in Nov 23, still waiting. been in Canada solidly since 2018. Our file is undergoing additional 'verifications'. It's quite frustrating.

You can actually renew your passport in the US and it will be mailed to you. Why not just wait until you have a perm address and apply? https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/canadian-passports-usa/renew-us.html

Our file has been dormant since Dec 2 (me) and Dec 30 (him), just got request for both of us to provide passport pages. Need to translate and then will submit.

We are in same pattern no updates on mine done Dec 2/23, and spouse since Dec 30/23. Applied Nov 2/23, AOR Nov 9/23.
