    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

It was pretty fast for me! Between DM (Jan 6), receiving landing appointment (Jan 11), to actually landing (Jan 18), was less than 2 weeks? It was a pleasant surprise, I wasn't expecting on getting my landing appointment for 5 weeks (according to the not so lucky ones on the forum). And yes...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

YES your sponsor needs to be there! They have questions for your sponsor too, one of them being "do you still wish to sponsor your partner". (in the interview appointment letter, they'll mention what you have to bring. Your photos and your sponsor are both on that list!)

    Bringing Money to Canada

The receiving end doesn't have to do anything. I don't believe they would question it, I used to get money from family around 20k every 6 months and the only thing the bank asked me is if I want to put it in to high interest savings account. Wire transfer from one bank to another is the one...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

In my experience they don't contact you at all until 1. DM or 2. they haven't gotten what they requested. No update on ECAS either. Hopefully you hear good news from them soon!

Lately, it has been very close, like few days apart, even few hours apart.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

I would think that is okay. After all, the lady at my landing interview suggested applying for a temp visa once you're out of Canada to get back in, if you absolutely need to leave the country, so the important part is having the valid document to get back in. If she has a PR card at that point...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

I would answer yes to the question, I don't think it makes that big of a difference though. Even without the PR, I applied to legally enter Canada so I would never answer no to that question anyway. And even if you are visa exempt, the moment you go through custom, I think it would consider as...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

Let's hope so! The paper that says my landing date and stuff? It is photo less. I guess that's why they let me keep my second photo? It should go with this piece of paper?

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

I'm assuming sent to CIC Sydney, they stuck it on a piece of paper, and they kept that paper.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

Well, she did say it costs $50, and I believe you don't pay on the spot, you have to call in. Sorry, really just sharing what I was told at the landing interview here. I didn't ask much further because she did admit that there's no guarantee that you will get it that much faster.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

So I guess for once, they were true to their words, and they processed it in a timely manner. Got my OWP in the mail yesterday. Me few years ago would have (almost) killed for that!

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

As we say it here, it's "travel at your own risk", but with post-grad work permit and multiple entry visa, you should be fine. I've done three weeks vacation to my home country (didn't fly with my spouse, we were saving costs), did Mexico without my spouse, and drove to the states few times...

!!!!!!! They only took one of my photos!!! Was that a mistake? Anyone who recently landed had the same experience? She just gave me back the other photo.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

Hi, I was told that you can request for a rush on the PR card, it will cost $50 but they can't guarantee anything. I'm at work don't have the number with me but the number is listed in the paper they gave us at landing with bunch of info re: sponsoring other people, citizenship requirement, etc...

finding a job while applying for permanent residence inside canada

To answer your question about finding a job, I actually found it quite hard. I've had my OWP for about a year now, and I'm still under-employed. Had a good job in marketing previously as well, went to a good Canadian university, so either the job market here is extra harsh, or they really...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2014

If you applied inland the landing interview will be in your area, no need to cross the border. I'm positive having a valid passport is a requirement at landing though so let's hope it's before September. On a slightly related note, if you cross the border by land, you can travel with less than...
