My bank draft was cashed August 5th 2011 (sent my application June 17 2011)... however I didn't get my AOR until February 2012. I think it depends on who is working on your application.

If you sent them your RPR fee, and your passport, you can expect to get it returned in 3-6 weeks. I got my passport back exactly three weeks later. You can apply for a visitor visa before your permit expires too. If you apply for that you have "implied status" until you hear otherwise...

When I talked to the immigration customer service person today she said I could land "inland" (at an office in or around Toronto) but I can do it only by appointment and getting the appointment might take a month or two. It's quicker if I go over the border and do it, which is what she suggested.

For those of you waiting for your landing documents and COPR to get sent back, I got mine back today. It took three weeks to the day (me sending them documents April 4th). I'll be landing in Niagara Falls next Saturday!
