Hi $3000 should just be OK. We used to renew our study permit with under 3k. My cousin recently renewed his study with a $2000 bank balance. Nothing wrong with showing more if you have but the above is based on my experience.

It might cause you some problems when it comes to home-ties. Might be better to get someone from home country sponsor you. An uncle in Canada might mean you don't have any intentions of coming back after your studies. Just my opinion. Someone might have a better idea.

If you did the application online and also paid online you don't need to send a receipt I think. If you are feeling unsettled you may send in one.

I think a spousal work permit application is just alright and a visitors visa for your children since they are accompanying their mother. That is my best guess. Lets see what others say.
