I was requested to get the new medical once it expired, but I've been reading that sometimes they don't ask until the interview, and sometimes they extend the validity of the medical..., but they will need a valid medical to enter Canada.

Had you sent the medical originally when filed or waited for them to ask? I am just curious because I filed last March.

It sounds to me like they inform people of interviews, without giving dates, and then have a ton of interviews within a week, every few months. It seems like they wait until they have a pile of files needing interviews and then they give two or three weeks notice. I have heard that the office...

I haven't requested my notes yet, but my ecas says that my file was transferred in May, they started working on the file at the end of august... It seems to take quite some time for them to process!

We are the same... And I haven't had any updates. I received an email from immigration stating they received my medical and they will contact if I need to do anything else, but ecas not updated!!

I am sure once you submit the medical and record check, they will request the passport!

We have been asked for updated schedule a and birth certificate, and then again for an updated medical.

There is a form that the applicant needs to sign in order for the sponsor to get the notes, only giving the authority to the sponsor to access your private info.

Are you able to just go to the post office and buy a courier envelope??

You could try going to fedex, or another company that delivers in the US.. Just put a prepaid envelope in with envelope you are sending your passport in. I have heard that some places will not mail a passport though, so just say you are mailing documents to avoid any issues.

I was recently asked to resubmit medical due to expiry. They will need a valid medical to enter into Canada, but there is a chance that the visa officer will extend the medical for you.
