This is what I did too. I said my husband had no SIN, lived outside of Canada and was unfortunately unemployed. The CRA requested that I sign an affidavit swearing this was all true, and will need to continue doing this until he arrives in Canada.

I never even received aorq, I only received an email once I was approved to sponsor.. My ecas was not even updated until this January when they requested an updated schedule a. So, don't worry too much if you don't receive updates regularly!! Good luck everybody!

Hi, I sent the application March 20 2015, approved as sponsor may 24, 2015. It said the began processing his file in August. But the ecas was only first updated when they requested a new birth certificate on January 13 2016. Just received the medical request last Tuesday and sent it on Friday.

Don't feel too bad about that, I applied in March 2015 and only had mine updated in January after they requested a new birth certificate that was missing from his file.
